Here you go ..,
https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-new ... still-keen
But seems he’s more interested in his bank balance than playing football. Usual problem with these footballers sadly, but he definitely won’t be coming here it’s plain to see.
Move on as you say KB, no loss.

I agree. If he wanted to come here it would have happened by now.

I hope not he is a true Blue but he's just not good enough but wish him well.BlueBalls wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 2:15 pmBonne again?

Sorry but just don’t see Bonne as being the answer. Let’s face it if it weren’t for his Ipswich connection I couldn’t see many of our fans being happy with the signing.

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
To be honest the longer we go without signing a striker on a permanent deal the more likely it is we’ll wait for the transfer window to close and bring in a loan striker on a season long deal. As best I’m aware we currently only have one loan player (Tyreece John-Jules) with a league limit of 5 allowed. Surely if we’re patient we can attract a much better loanee than one we can afford, and of course there’s less risk of making a mistake.

If we cannot get primary targets then I'd be fine with Bonne coming back on loan for a season, as a rotation option/cover.

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
Who could a potential target be though? It’s getting late in the window now and not sure who we’d attract that is of sufficient quality that would be prepared to play at League one level. I think we’ll end up with Bonne. Maybe he’s always been our fall back option anyway.

Maybe McKenna had his eye on a surplus to requirement Man Utd youngster.

I think it will be a step backwards if we take back Bonne.

I think this is exactly what's going on. Whatever the case, Ashton and company appear to be keeping their cards close to their chest. It is strange there hasn't been any rumours of late. I wonder if they have their eyes on a foreigner?Charnwood wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 3:40 pmTo be honest the longer we go without signing a striker on a permanent deal the more likely it is we’ll wait for the transfer window to close and bring in a loan striker on a season long deal. The last time I walked through Ipswich Town centre I thought I had forgotten my passport as hardly heard a English speaking voice. Changed so much since I lived there.

Some 600 immigrants cross the Channel every day. Over 21,000 this calendar year alone.
Either some rafts went off course and landed at Felixstowe or Port Authorities aren't doing nowhere near enough to send them back.
French government officials say quote "It's unacceptable" - but they did have the grace to return 100 to their side of the water.

Interesting comments from KM. It seems it is more a case of the qualities he feels the team needs to have added, not pigeonholing a player into any particular position, such as a striker!

Re: Rumors' & Transfers - Summer 2022
Having read that I wonder if we might be after a goal scoring midfielder?
As an aside, a Pompey fan has posted some convoluted story about “Hirstgate”. He say the player is in his way on loan to Blackpool. I don’t actually care tbh. But I do wonder if Pompey are so focused on all things ITFC ( our budget, our targets etc), it almost smacks of …” we couldn’t get him and nor did you (with all your financial clout), ha ha” ….

Been saying that for years…. It’s definitely got
“ worse”…… you walk down norwich road near (where Portman Rd meet norwich road at Barrack corner), apart from Coes which had been there all my life, there’s not a single English speaking shop. It’s like you’re in another country altogether.

Care about what?
Oh you’ve edited your post . Makes sense now.
Who said I cared? I was just posting about another fan’s comment to raise discussion about a player we’ve been connected too ( as have Pompey) all summer . Do you have a problem with that?

My uncle (Basil Acres) owned a pet shop in Norwich Road if I remember right he bought the shop next door so he could enlarge it, just wondering is it still there as a pet shop?hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 6:43 pmShed on tour wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:51 pmThe last time I walked through Ipswich Town centre I thought I had forgotten my passport as hardly heard a English speaking voice. I can’t recall a pet shop in norwich Rd tbh. Was it at the Barrack Corner / St Mathews st end on norwich road do you know? NR is a very long road and goes all the way out of town ( clearly all the way to norwich lol !!) but there are shops along the length of thst road right up to Meredith road . But can’t honestly remember a pet shop … how long ago are we talking about KB?Kerry Blue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 7:24 pmMy uncle (Basil Acres) owned a pet shop in Norwich Road if I remember right he bought the shop next door so he could enlarge it, just wondering is it still there as a pet shop?hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 6:43 pmShed on tour wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:51 pm

I don’t remember the pet shop but I do remember your uncle playing for Town, he was in the team on my first visit to Portman Road in 1959.

Well he finished playing 1960 i believe then worked for the club for years but I don't know when he opened the pet shop but it must have been 60s or 70s I would think, I've not been to Ipswich for probably 30 years or more, Sad isn't it I will have to go to Portman Road before I pop my clogs, can you still get Cobnut Brown ale I wonder.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 9:07 pmI can’t recall a pet shop in norwich Rd tbh. Blimey KB I’d forgotten all about Cobnut, that’s what my dad used to drink when I was a kid. Yes I remember Basil Acres carrying on working at Portman Road at the same time as another ex player Tommy Parker. A few years later I worked at BXL in Brantham where a number of Acres family members worked Inc I think your Uncle Basil before he signed professional terms for Town. I think he also played for Brantham before joining Ipswich.

Yes your right Brantham then Town although I was told Aston Villa were interested at one stage, my dad's family were from Brantham and Mums from Manningtree, I don't know if he worked at BXL but most in the area did I believe.
We couldn't get Cobnut where I lived so always looked forward to them before a match I can remember going to see Town play Man City (cup match I think) at the time I had never seen Town lose they lost 0-3 Mike Summerbee scored all three, it was a full house and we were locked out with hundreds of others, still I didn't see them lose

I remember Basil Acres shop in Norwich Road, a blue fronted shop with double window as I recall, my Dad lived in Brookfield Road just off Norwich Road so we often walked passed it.
