Re: Transfer Rumours
Furuhashi, excellent player in Scotland. But Celtic are the only club he’ll get a chance to play Champions League football with. No where near good enough for any other team in that bracket. He’ll not be leaving Parkhead.
The Sevco Tavernier will be collecting his pension soon. Again, ok for SPL but not a chance for English Championship.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Seeing as Tottenham are on the verge of taking the manager away I'd guess the chances of the player swapping East Glasgow for North London isn't entirely out of the question. If they're going to steal the manager there then why not bring along one of the most pivotal players with it as part of the deal.
It'd be unfortunate but the team (Celtic) is strong, it doesn't function and succeed on one player or individual alone.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I’ll wager Postecoglu fails at Spurs if he goes. Like Stevie G @ Villa ——>> no chance.

Re: Transfer Rumours
If he wants to win trophies, suggest Man City. Or Newcastle. They’re apparently the next to dominate. Believe it when it starts happening.

Re: Transfer Rumours
The problem for Kane is city have Harland, Newcastle are a good couple of years off trophy challenges, Chelsea and Liverpool look in decline etc - there is nowhere here for him to go and he doesn’t seem to want to go abroad.
I’d put him at Real Madrid to replace the aging Benzima. I think he would suit their system and work well with the younger pacy wide forwards.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I think our chances of picking up Hirst are pretty slim but if it’s going to happen I’m pretty certain it will happen very quickly as the decision by both clubs has most likely already been decided.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I'm not so sure on Postecoglu failing at Spurs, his record as a manager is very good. He's done as good a job as he can possibly do at Celtic.
Maybe he is what Spurs need, a bit of an unknown. Just like he was at Celtic
Celtic are a bigger club than Feyenoord, not so sure people would have been saying Slot would fail.
Also not as harsh on Stevie G, his next job is the one for me that will determine whether he is going to be good enough. For me done a first class job at Rangers and had massive injury problems at AV which cleared up for Emery, though Emery has done a fantastic job, Arsenal not so ?

Re: Transfer Rumours
To me Spurs seem to have problems beyond the manager, the recruitment has been very poor for some time, so the squad isn't very good, they don't have huge wealth and they are likely to lose at least one of their best players in the near future.valleyroad wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 2:13 pmI'm not so sure on Postecoglu failing at Spurs, his record as a manager is very good. The club needs sorting in more areas than just the manager and it would be a good few years work even if it all went to plan. When I look at that suqad they have it's really just a top half side with a couple of world class players dragging it along.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Its a complete unknown. You could be correct and he’ll do well…….. but its a different game. COMPLETELY.valleyroad wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 2:13 pmI'm not so sure on Postecoglu failing at Spurs, his record as a manager is very good.
He’ll not have the joy of 70% possession, 400 shots, 350 on target etc etc.
…… it is indeed what he can do under the inevitable pressure.
Was night & day for Stevie G, (changing from Sevco to AV) …… it’ll be the same.
But …..,

All of the above is IF he goes to Spurs.

I looked at him this morning and apart from last season he was not great 12 goals in 120 games since 2018, I think we can do better.Bluemike wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 6:18 pmNew winger anyone ?

Re: Transfer Rumours
Not overly impressed with this, thought he was absolute cack against us.Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry says he expects midfielder Jack Taylor to move to the Championship this summer with clubs including Town interested in the 24-year-old.
In March, Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed his club had turned down almost £2 million for Taylor in January from a League One club who had made four offers with Town having known to have been chasing the former Barnet man.
Fry says he anticipates Taylor, who has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their June internationals, moving to the second tier following Peterborough’s League One play-off disappointment.
“I expect Jack Taylor to end up in the Championship and there are clubs after him, including Ipswich who bid three times for him in January,” Fry told the Peterborough Telegraph.
“It’s been very quiet overall though. Clubs don’t want to pay players’ wages in the summer if they can help it.”
We understand Taylor remains on the Blues’ radar as they look to strengthen ahead of 2023/24, despite the expectation that Massimo Luongo, who joined Town on a short-term deal in January, will sign the new terms he was offered last month.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I trust in KM if he thinks he is good enough. Right profile for us so suspect it’ll happen, alongside Rak-sykak on loan from palace and Hirst on a permanent. Transfer window officially opens on 2 days and I’d be surprised if clubs wait on signing players during the summer due to having to pay wages?! Surely clubs want business done early and new players present for pre season.

Have you read anything about Hirst coming here on a permanent? I know there is speculation, but I haven't seen anything concrete.shabba wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 12:33 pmI trust in KM if he thinks he is good enough. Re: Transfer Rumours
I wonder if we may have moved on . Posh are just using our bids ( not for the first time) to push up price of a player that will be leaving them. They’re tossas, and I’d love it if we now said , sorry you’re too late we’ve moved into another player.

Re: Transfer Rumours
7 goals in 17 for Sunderland in Championship last season, 6ft3, only 22, on paper he ticks a lot of boxes. If we were unlucky that Leicester went down, making it harder to get Hirst, it could be a blessing that Everton stayed up. Actually looks a similar type to Hirst, so could be something in it.
