When it's confirmed by the club or announced on TWTD / EADT etc then you can really believe it.

I don't think he'll have the same success in the Second League from August or score nearly as many as last season but has proved an invaluable member of the team. Without him would we really had got a promotion just now. Those goals and assistance were priceless for sure. One of the most pivotal and influential members of the squad.

You could argue the best thing about Chaplin ?, (Best answer) , He's ours.

3Yr deal - I doubt many players at the club will be turning down any new contracts , they know which side their bread is buttered don’t they , lol!

It’ll be interesting to see who we get in snd his much for instance we pursue Taylor ( having already offered £2m in Jan ). Personally I’d walk away now and leave it . Posh had their chance , and why should we pay more .

Tbh Steve, he’d be the first one I’d have given a new deal to. He’s earned it. Not that it’ll stop the vultures circling unfortunately..,,

Maybe another year on top of this one but doubt many clubs will be after him as he is not young now and on a decent wage here. He is great but I don’t feel there would be huge demand for him at over his current salary, and not for a big fee.

Morsy is only 31 and bang in form, I'd be more than happy to get another good Three years out of him.

Wonder if the team had failed a promotion would he had stayed on for further time, guess we'll never know.

This will be a fine catalyst for the team for the Championship from August but say again the club doesn't depend on one player alone. Don't get to see the team in action nowhere near as regular as some others and not all up on when individual contracts expire but would pick out select names such as Walton, Burns, Edmundson, possibly Humphries and Woolfenden to extend time here.

One or two players will be surplus for the new season, you don't need to reel out a list of the dead wood as anyone who follows action will know who they are. Point being with the players we got already highlighted above and one or two new additions, there will be a real chance of a promotion opportunity. Not expecting to jump another division in successive years but looking ahead, you got to believe we can do something from August and beyond.

I'm afraid I don't get this age prejudice at all. People are different, some attain their peak at a very young age and quickly lose it, some don't get anywhere near to it until mid 30's, some keep it for years and years. Bottom line, age should never be a measure - if you're good enough, you're good enough.

Totally agree with you there Rossi. He totally looks after himself, got a level head and blimey look around, there's plenty of players his age or even older. Good enough age doesn't come into it

Yep I agree too, Morsy is pivotal to our team and seeing how fit he is the age thing atm is irrelevant.

Absolutely as you say at the moment, not an issue, but you can't ignore the age of a player, of course it becomes a factor as to their value, who's interested and what contracts are offered. I don't get why people struggle with averages and trends so much, yes of course you could be an outlier and be playing your best stuff at 35, but you know what, chances are you won't be, and it's that chance that is important, nobody is writing anyone off, only lets not just gamble on this player playing top stuff until they're 40.
