Make that 5-3, you got to hand it to Southampton they don't give up

For a neutral, the Championship is a compulsive race.

I think now we have to accept Leicester are gone. 2.4 points average is stunning. Champions in April?

Equally though I can't see WBA or any of the chasing pack making up an 11 point gap by the end of the season.

So it's us, Southampton and Leeds in a tussle for the second auto slot. I think today showed two things:

- Southampton are beatable. Yes they scored 5 but shipped 3 to a relegation candidate.
- we are still very much in it. We have the easiest run in and maybe have had our blip

Agree JB, but we're very much 3rd favourites for second spot now. Heard Southampton hadn't lost since 23rd of September... we're going to have to beat them and be flawless from now. I don't see it if I'm honest...

Southampton and Leeds don't look like tripping up anytime soon, in fact they both appear to be getting stronger. Southampton conceded 3 goals today, but they came back a won like champs. We need a run of winning results, and we need to stop conceding. Like you, I don't see it happening.

The good thing is Southampton have a very tough run in and last game away to Leeds

Points above acknowledged and fair enough but we've got the opportunity for a nice little run for the four games left in Feb.

Millwall and Swansea away
Rotherham and Brum at home

Let's see where we are after that

Yep, should at least be 6 points from Rothers & Brum……. Millwall & Swans, 4 points from those, 10 point haul in Feb and finger still on the auto promo pulse.

Agreed Marko, I think 10 points is a must and we'll still be well in the mix. In some ways the pressure is off now, should suit us.

Millwall winning and playing well at Coventry sorry to say, no easy games but hopefully we can pick up three points.

I still have this feeling that Leicester and Leeds will have slip-ups, and it will be Saints and us for the top 2 spots, we will make a charge and start destroying a few teams, that's, of course, providing we don't include dumb arses Wolfi and Edmundson as our two CB's, just stick with Burgess and Axel and if Williams decides he's fit include him at RB, and start giving Moore and Al-Hamadi more time together

Leicester will be champions, I have no doubts. Second spot is still up for grabs, but we need to go on an extended winning run. We did that in League One after the Bristol debacle, but the question is…can we emulate that at the Championship level?

Unlikely as it's on Sky sports Football Main Event and Ultra HDR.

Leicester are well gone, that's game over, the other automatic spot is still very much up for grabs, we have everything still to play for.

Yip , we sure do Mike ...these next run of games over Feb /March will tell us if we are in with a shout or not. But playing mid to lower teams isn't going to be a walk in the park, and teams that sit back ALWAYS frustrate our style of play and we rarely seem to find a way past that approach by opponents.

It took him 2 minutes though 😅 also Hawkins Dozzell Simpson and McGoldrick Garbett ex Town have scored.

Watford are absolute crap … score flatters scum though. They actually look a bang average team . Well tbh both sides do!

Once again I’m watching Saints in a game and wondering how they’ve had such a run … now 3-0 down vs Bristol…. There’s nothing about saints that impresses me. I think most of their wins have come against a run of games against lower placed teams…, They’ve got WBA next…

Leeds absolutely steaming it in the league now… reckon it’s them n Leicester for automatics . PL parachute money coming to the fore I see.
