How long ago did those clubs get promoted to PL? Maybe things have changed since then? It does seem worse to me on do many planes, and not just concerning us.

Maybe it is a load of baloney re corruptness, but it's really hard not to feel that way given what's happened over the last 3 games.

Yes I would love to be a fly on the wall to see what exactly is discussed.
Maybe Howard's intention is simply to explain the rules regarding Referees/VAR to MA.
If MA is going to show replays of the situations he thinks we've been hard done by and that go against the rules then it would be very interesting to see what the reply is - but I suspect the answer would be that referees are human and VAR is operated by humans and humans are liable to make mistakes.
I agree 100% that we have had some dodgy decisions recently, but they've been made and nothing can be done now to undo them, nor will VAR suddenly be abandoned - at the end of the day nothing is going to change as a result of this meeting so there is absolutely no point whatsoever in continuing to feel aggrieved and wound-up. Personally I hate to have to accept a situation about which I'm not happy (ie Brexit) but at the end of the day nothing I do or say is going to change things, so just move on.

If nothing else it'll flag up to refs this Clubs opinion re their decisions and it MIGHT make them think twice about some of the decisions they make against us.

I'd like to think that as a result of the meeting between Howard Webb and MA that Tim Robinson won't be officiating in a premier League match next week and Stuart Atwell will be asked why he didn't at least give Robinson a chance to review his decision, and Atwell won't be sitting in the VAR chair for some time.

You're probably right Mike. Whatever MA and Webb discuss Webb can't very well say to Darren England (the ref at Spurs on Saturday) be kind to Ipswich but maybe he might intimate that we are very unhappy with the officiating so far.

I think MA will particularly make a point to HW that, following Wolverhampton Wanderers petition to get VAR abolished, he listened to all the arguments before deciding to vote to retain VAR. At that time MA said (in the Radio Suffolk interview) that he'd had no previous personal experience of VAR and "we listened primarily to the Premier League. On the basis of what I was told we supported the Premier League's decision. A key part of that was how high the bar was going to be set for decisions to be overturned and overruled, and at what point VAR was going to get involved in the game"

On viewing these last 3 games it has shown that the PL appears to have missold its vision for retaining VAR. MA also said "If I was asked to make that vote again tomorrow, I can't look you in the eye and say I'd vote the same way". He also said his experience now makes him feel, from an entertainment point of view that football is worse off! Ipswich Town certainly are!

But that'd still only be just TWO clubs in the PL voting against VAR. It stinks . There's so many issues on a weekly basis surrounding officials and VAR. Even " linesman" don't play an active part in games anymore. The game has become a complete joke .

Been really busy so forgot to post about this game, it’ll go down as a very special day for me - I took my 8 year old son for his first match - along with my dad so we had three generations of town fans there.

When we scored I was lifting my son up and celebrating together, my dad video’d it. He showed me after the game, it was a a really special moment that got captured of such a precious moment.

He was devastated when we conceded and took about half hour to bring round, but he was ok after that and had a magic day - we went up early and came back late.

Despite the result it was a really special moment in my life.

Sorry if that’s a tad soppy!

Shabba, NEVER apologise for being a tad soppy......,. or even TOO soppy. Your son should be cherished forever and memories like this one you shared are what life itself is all about.

My youngest boy, Scotty too Hotty (he's 30 years old) got another CLEAR brain scan result today. Tears of pure joy all around. Looking for the smiling emoji with tears but there isn't one!

Scott's earliest memories of Easter Road are the first three visits were defeats. He remembers as a 6 year old thinking, "Why is he bringing me here!"
But he's a proper Hibee now. Even though he was wearing a retro Arsenal top (Cannon facing left) to the scan result today.

Hope there are PLENTY more trips to the football for you, your son and dad.

Unfortunately it was a Glioblastoma multiforma grade 4 cancer he had very successfully removed in October 2021. (Paul Brennan —->> a proper genius in every sense of the word)
After radiotherapy and chemo which was also successful, he lives the rest of his life with 6 monthly scans. He didn’t get a prognosis. But the prognosis is not great. He’s now has 5 completely clear scans. And he’s back driving again. The DVLA rule is; 2 full years after chemo ends. And he’s back at his job 4 days a week.
And he and his Mrs just got a new house. Life insurance was a struggle but all was sorted out.

And there are ways to keep healthier. Diet and exercise. Which he follows strictly. Also follows guys like Dave Bolton, Logan Sneed & Andrew Scarborough. All guys who are 10 year survivors of GBMF4 brain tumours. Dave Bolton was given 3 months to live in 2014……. But …… he’s still here.

Great to hear he's doing well Marko, I've had my dad and boss go through it all in the last couple of years and it's just not fair or fun for anyone, that's for sure. All the best for him and all the family, and thanks to the bloody geniuses and kind souls that work on these things!!
