February games …..

Post by hallamblue » Sat Jan 25, 2025 8:38 pm

Right, now we’ve got rid of this passage of games we’ve got coming up the following .

Saints (H)
Villa ( a)
Spurs (H)
Man Utd ( a)

I’d say 50%of these are winnable! I’ve ignored the FA Cup clash with Coventry ( couldn’t give a stuff about that game tbh).

So no what do people think about points husk out of a possible 12?

I’m going for 6 maybe 7

4 is needed, 6 be ideal.

Anything less would be a struggle.

We looked so far off the level today, the Saints game has become a must win. Feel low at the moment but let’s see how we look against the leagues worst rather than the leagues best. Highly suspect the 4231 will return - and a front 4 of Delap, Hutchinson, enciso and Philogene looks decent.

Go for:
Saints 3pts
Villa 0pts
Spurs 1pt
Manure 1pt

5pts total. And still in the sh!t. But hopefully the Wolves & Foxes are having similar woes.

Going to be a very exciting fight for 17th ....., no one be feeling "low", ye hear!

Feel "high" on hope.

I was going to post "High Hopes" from the Division Bell, (Floyd) ....., but the lyrics had zero reference to the task ahead. :D

If McKenna could get himself a more settled starting line up I believe we could win our two home games and pick up 6 points.

If he keeps making 4 or 5 changes every game I think we’ll win v Southampton and lose the rest which would almost certainly keep us in the bottom three.

Sadly I can't see anymore than 3 points, and as Charnwood says the tinkering is back to stupid levels now, we are almost back to pre Bristol Rovers levels.

I think he’s been trying to juggle what players he’s had at his disposal to maximise the team…but the bench has been so weak he hasn’t a cat in hell chance has he. But with the recent recruits Thai may change . Burns injury is a blow though m because I’m convinced he’s was looking to convert him to a more defensive role. And Burns was tbh looking the part. This injury will I think end his season , and may even curtail his future at the club for next season. 30yrs of age is the not the age to sustain a serious injury at this level. We may even now have to dip into the transfer market for a defender for the right back / wing back role as Johnson doesn’t look to tick all those boxes and Clarke’s isn’t good enough at this level.

I agree 100% with this.

He did the same first third of last season in the Championship - numerous changes each game, and it wasn't until he started to pick a more settled side that our results improved. People say he's a quick learner, but I have to say I see little evidence of that so far this season - in fact it seems to me that he's un-learned what he learned last season.

As for points in February, if he continues in the same vein I cannot see more than 2 points.

It's the January window. And there are injuries. OF COURSE he's making changes. What do you all expect? It's not like he's
in all out Paul Lambert mode.

FFS, let the bloody window close and see what happens. That's three f**king years in a row some people have spunked their opinions on this forum at THIS STAGE of the season and were mammothly wrong. ......., and what? ---->>> yer all going to be correct in the EPL season? Oh, nice one, well f**king done. Geniuses.

Struggling to see how people are mammothly (sic) wrong about this season at the present time (actually, looking at where we are, they're probably mammothly (sic) right), so your argument about 3 years in a row is null and void in my book.

We all know that you think KM can do no wrong; and that's fine, it's your opinion. But try and appreciate that not everybody shares your opinion: that their opinion is just as valid as yours and in no way warrants sarcastic swearing and genius comments.
