Clarke doing what he does best if only he could do that in the premier.

Yip....same ankle by the looks of it. Ligaments take months to heel.
Godfrey look as rusty as he'll to me
That goal was down to Hirst press. that's what he is really good at.

Jack Clarke makes it 3 -1 and this is why we have to hold onto him to get him better developed for the Premiership

Nice pass from Broadhead, cool finish, well won by Godfrey in the first instance. 1-3

This is frickin great, put out a weakened squad but got a 3 - 1 advantage going into the interval. Not sure how hard the opposition are trying or really want it but this is a highly encouraging score at this stage of contest.
I want to reach the 5th round, go back to Premier league survival and not much else with it, to hell with that, it's highly important we're involved in something other. This is a hopeful score with second period to come, you just hope the team can maintain it. Don't think Smodzics should have been risked for a game of this nature and interesting to see how Palmer gets on with a first appearance.

Yep. Both sides are not great. Poor defence from a corner by Hirst for their goal. Clarke has took both his goals well. Hirst is doing a lot of good running into the channel. Town still pissing around to much at the back. Hey but we are winning....so far 🫣Steve and Jo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 5:02 pmAnybody watching this live? if so where?

Our defence is poor but those 4 have not played together but they need the game time I guess.

Crap defence.... weak midfield.... and so many players very rusty through minimum game time. We're using this gane like a training match for peripheral players. God I hate the modern game these days....

Well done Philogene that got you off the mark.
And all you on here are saying p*ss poor performance from the defence well all are on over 4.0 out of 5.0 so I don't call that a p*ss poor performance and 4-1 to boot, I would now bring on Delap for a run out to finish the job in style

I'm happy with that, I thought Palmer Hirst and Clarke were very good and if we go down it's good to know our second string can perform like that against a decent team in the Championship away from home.

That result just shows the gulf between the Championship and the Premier League. We basically played our 2nd team and looked reasonably comfortable. Phillips, was poor again.
Palmer looks very solid. We still play far to slowly for my liking. On to the 5th round

Can't go by score alone but they seemed to put out a strong defensive line-up with no real attacking intent and didn't appear to want it much. Maybe that ain't so but was expecting a tougher contest or closer score than what came out of it. Pleased to learn Palmer did well on a debut but you can't make judgment on one appearance alone. Hirst back and scoring is a relief he's a pivotal player for us and will be in the time ahead.
Game's concluded now I got a score of a 4 - 1 victory. First and foremost that's something you can take pride in. We don't reach Round Five all too often and pleased to be involved in later rounds. Don't know how many of ours made the trip over but they have to be thrilled to come away with a result like that.

It was comfortable without being spectacular, you could see it took a while to get used to each other but we improved as the game went on.
Very pleased with Palmer, that's a good signing, Jack Clarke looked very good but we need it in the Premier League, Hirst too worked very hard and pleased Philogene scored as he looked a bit average to me.
A negative for me was Phillips again, if you can't shine and impose yourself in these games then what's the point.
All in all no complaints and here's hoping for a favourable home draw for the 5th round on 1st March.

Oh well, I’ll take that. Don’t think we looked anything special or coherent tbh, but you can’t grumble at 1-4 can you.
On to the 5th round we go. Home game please against a small club….
