I thought he was brilliant. Very skillful and very aggressive in his play... wouldn't mind him here!

I liked Exeter's keeper Whitworth tonight very good performance he won't be at Exeter very long with that display and a very sound performance with an approach in the summer

I think we should fill the squad with 24 keepers, try something new Mckenna FFS.

Blimey what a long game last night, Exeter were so close!

Hard game away to Forest now - will
Be interesting to see what team they put out as they have a real opportunity for Europe (even CL!) this year - but then they’ll also want a crack at the FA Cup. However the game sits between a home games Vs Arsenal and Man City for them….

I hope we put up as good a performance as Exeter did, I have my doubts.

Interesting thoughts were being discussed on twtd this week about the possible line ups for the Forest game. I’ll be honest I hadn’t given them much thought, but from NF perspective they are very much on course for the Champions League, so have been fielding very much a second string in cup games. We know we definitely will, so perhaps there’s ever6 chance to beat them at their place.

They made 10 changes to the team that beat Brighton 7-0 in their last Premier League game, so it must have been pretty much their second X1.

I doubt that Forest will treat this game with contempt, and we shouldn't either.

You have to admit Mike that Whitworth had a solid game with a safe pair of hands and was not afraid to command his area and got in where it hurts like the nutting job on Forests striker Awoniyi OUCH

Exeter had they won would have provided us a great opportunity of reaching Round Six. Would have much preferred a trip there than another EPL club name particularly one that's so formidable this season. Only a lousy penalty contest denied us that chance. So close to a quarter final opportunity had Devon team made it but given our record in competition against lower league names they could just have easily beaten us anyhow. It's a missed chance.

Number of big teams already gone by the wayside, you could see the opportunity there. Should have been a replay game anyhow expect they don't allow them anymore. Game last night seemed to go on for a very long time : Fred Valentich could have been found and made a return home, that level of thing. If the team can score four at Coventry and play great than we got every chance of getting through at Nottingham in the next round, the latter won't even field nowhere near their strongest team what with a possible title opportunity - that's where their focus is going to be at.

I didn’t watch it Ash so I'll bow to your knowledge, I am very hopeful the keeper we've just bought is more than capable of filling the void though.

He look steady without being spectacular. Sometimes you just need stability.... I csn see him being picked ahead of Muric for a while now. Bit of sorting out to do in the summer. I think Mike.

It’s so important to have a good inform keeper as he’s the only guy on the pitch whose errors really get punished.

The difference a good keeper makes to the teams results is massive and when they make mistakes it’s often the difference between winning and losing. The best example of this at the moment is Ederson at Man City. For years he’s been consistently good and his contribution to the team’s success has been massive. This season for the first time in 8 years he’s been making mistake after mistake which has cost them dearly not least in the Champions League earlier this week against Real Madrid.

As we know only too well an out of form keeper also unsettles the defence which makes winning games even more difficult.

What an absolute joke. The clubs fans consideration is absolute ZERO here. Especially the Ipswich fans. How many in say every 10 Ipswich fans who WERE going on the Saturday or Sunday can now drop everything and go on the Monday? Feckin absolute joke.

How tall was Laurie Sivell 5ft 8 and Paul Cooper 5ft-10 Both excellent keepers for us so height does not come into it FACT

It didn’t but things change. Players are probably taller across the board - especially defenders. It’s survival of the fittest and it’s probably natural selection that most elite keepers now are very tall, so I’d have it argue that point.

It applies to alot of sports, boxing is another example, a lot of heavyweights are all very tall now, maybe even sprinters and athletes etc.

Personally I would want a keeper definitely 6ft plus. Sivell and Cooper both good keepers but would be found wanting in today's modern game because all outfield players have got bigger too.

I think Coops and LS would resemble midgets out there on the pitch in today's game tbh. Most players (CF's and CB') tend to be well over 6ft now as a "norm". The general play now would be literally well over their heads.

You can't compete with a 6ft 3ins+ player who is jumping another 2ft off the ground to meet the cross, if you overall reach is around 6ft 5ins with outstretched arms.
