Hirst and Delap are very different players and both have their own attributes, but there is only one of them gonna start 99 times out of a 100 and we all know who that is.

Absolutely the case yes, but think Mckenna is missing a trick tbh .

I think had we been able to bring in that 3rd striker, we potentially might have done. But as it stands, I doubt it will happen now, because of the running they do at this high intensity, when one comes off, the other comes on

I think Hirst has a massive part to play because of the way Delap plays, with high intensity and a physical battering ram approach he is gonna feel it now and again and may well need the odd rest.

When I first saw the line up yesterday with Townsend and Phillips included, on paper we looked defensively strong, and with a performance like Palmer put in yesterday we should significantly reduce the number of goals we concede which improves our chances of picking up points.
I think we might see more of Townsend at LB because Davis is a defensive liability, and we have so many wingers on the books Davis can easily be replaced.
I think bringing Alex Palmer in may prove to be a massive signing and if we can take a point off an in form Villa side at their place we shouldn’t be writing ourselves off yet.
All we need to do now to survive is beat Wolves at Portman Road and draw with Leicester and match both teams for the rest of the season. If we can do this we would survive, it’s as simple as that.

Spot on. Would be nice to beat Leicester too though. They didn't look great yesterday against a largely toothless Arsenal.

I've never thought Leicester were all that, at any time Ive sen them this season tbh.

As for our line up, I'd keep that starting line up vs Villa for as much as possible for remaining fixtures. But McKenna won't.

Nistel-No-Joy is struggling. He’s no Messiah!

No no, I was joking really. Earlier in the season when Ipswich lost and Van Nistel-No-Joy had a big win, I think it was YOU who said, "Now thats how you manage a team!"

I remember reading the post and LMAO! Was like, "AYE RIGHT, Hallam! You're joking!"

Hallam. I am kidding around. Peace! My whole point was Nistelroy is pants and is being found out -->> when I said He's no Messiah, you responded with "great player doesn't always translate to great manager"....., I remembered your earlier post about "how to manage a game"....., my tongue is too far up Kierons as*hole...., so I made the joke......, its all cool, we are cool.

Edit to add

I just read that ^^^^ explanation....., and even I haven't a feckin clue what I'm going on about. Now I know how you ALL feel. I'll shut up now!

Ha ha ha ... it's ok marko honestly. I probably have contradicted myself ( often do lol (... no problems here munchkin..... not sure if this is the case and can't be arsed to look, but didn't he have a few good results when he first took over?

But my point about good players not very often transitioning into equally good managers still stands. I can't think of many...
