Re: England squad
Just had a quick look on the England Supporters forum and for some reason they don’t seem to be very happy.
I guess we had to go for experience against the mighty Albania and Latvia.

Re: England squad
I've always held that the English FL should be for English only for both players and managers; no French or African or Spanish or German or Irish or Scottish or Welsh or anything else. That way we nurture our own ready for the world stage.
But things are as they are. We don't need any conspiratory theory about foreigners being brought in to sabotage the English team's chances - the English have done a very good job of that themselves for the last 60 years.

It just goes to show how sh*te journalism is, "Delap left out of England squad" I mean ffs he's never been in it so can't possibly have been left out of it. Failed to make the squad i get but really? Total tossers.

The England manager doesn't get paid nearly the amount a PL manager does, hence Eddie Howe etc aren't interested.

Re: England squad
I quite like the England squad it looks well balanced to me. It has a very short term look about it but Tuchel has a very short term contract, only 18 months as I recall with the World Cup being his only deliverable. Henderson should have been in the Euro 2024 squad for all the reasons Tuchel has stated and had he been instead on United’s Mainoo we may have had a better chance of winning it. Rashford has a new lease of life at Villa and has a point to prove to United which Tuchel wants to tap into. It’s only Albania & Latvia we’re playing against so he’s hardly going to learn anything about anyone so why take risks.

I think Rashford is a very good player. He just needs to leave Utd, for good. I’d have him at Town in a jiffy….

Re: England squad
So would I Liz but the chances of that are zero. Once Unai Emery gets his head sorted out and he’s extracted from Manchester I’m pretty sure we’ll see the old Rashford again. Unfortunately United are in a pretty rotten state at the moment and Rashford was not being managed properly albeit he was partly responsible for that.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 12:10 amI think Rashford is a very good player. Re: England squad
A good player he might be but he has a rank bad selfish attitude and is a spoilt brat. I work with loads of United fans at the hospital and not a single one of them want him at the club.

Re: England squad
I think his attitude can be changed and I think United have contributed to this with rank bad management. It certainly wouldn’t have happened when Fergie was in charge and it won’t happen with Emery. Loads of United fans in Ipswich Hospital says it all

Re: England squad
It definitely wouldn't have happened under Fergie, nor would the demise of the club.
Yes bloody ridiculous Andy, several Man Utd fans and nearly as many Leeds, tossers lol.

Re: England squad
Yes, I've heard that said about him, but does that fit with a player who single handedly look on the government about children's welfare and lack of food/ meals etc . He got so involved in it to the point of distraction re his football at Utd. He seemed to lose focus in his game. I think that caused issues for him with Utd.....

Re: England squad
Possibly yes, what I didn't like is the footage, which went viral, of him ambling around the pitch making zero effort to put in a tackle or block opponents, didn't attempt to get back to help defend, it was embarrassing and being a team sport it said everything about what he thought of his teammates, he's just not for me I'm afraid.

Re: England squad
I've never seen that... when did he do this? I think the Utd club and pool of players are toxic as a group anyway. Have been since Ferguson retired. There's no discipline there, and to many egos on ridiculous wages. McKenna would be mental to go back there at any point in my view.

Re: England squad
There was a news item someplace recent where Touche or whatever the name is declines to join with your national anthem because he finds it awkward as a German or simply put it's (to him) inappropriate or unnecessary. Would English players and staff rise and stand for Deutschland Uber Alles, he makes a valid point.mendipblue wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 12:29 pmI think the German is trying to destroy us from within. Normally can't stand exhibition games and week. There's a certain argument to be had that while the English are taking on San Marino, Gibraltar and some gypsy nomads from Bulgaria, (Ipswich) Town could be involved in league action and provide a much greater focus. However such is the state of the league, we're in near total disarray and can't buy a win, maybe a distraction such as this is what's required.
