Match Fixing

Post by Bluemike » Wed Apr 16, 2025 10:27 am

Has anybody else heard any grumblings about Muric potentially up on match fixing charges soon ? I'm finding it hard to believe but it would sure as hell explain a lot.

I haven’t heard anything, but for some reason I’m not surprised. He’s just been banned from driving because he had no insurance, and not sure if he’d been caught speeding. For a professional footballer earning the kind of money he does, not to have an insurance is a measure of the man. So match fixing! Yer, quite likely. I don’t think we’ll be seeing him in a Town shirt again…

A large part of me thinks it's idle gossip but I've now had 4 different people mention it today and yet I can find nothing online etc.

Maybe that’s why he’s not in the team Mike and why we went after Palmer ( thank god for that), if it’s likely to be a court case etc it won’t be in the public domain I’d think….

If he's in any way involved with match fixing, it wouldn't be in a way that would explain the mistakes. Just consider that the money made from being a Premier League football must far surpass anything made through match fixing.

He might not be the sharpest knife, but I doubt he would risk damaging his own career for such things.

Didn't stop Bruce Grobbelaar though, but I do tend to agree with you.

I don't think Grobbelaar has managed 5 minutes of critical thinking in his life

For those old enough we were involved in a famous one back in the 1960's. Back then if memory serves an opposition team player bet as part of a syndicate to lose games when playing us. All kind of hazy after so long.

Perhaps Muric's up to something similar. Betting on his own team to lose I. e. throw games for financial gain, or to line the pockets of something other. Those sequence of horror performance and bizarre form must be behind something other than sub-standard play.

It's 99.9 per cent assured Mr Muric is in no way involved in any such activities. It's just how large the 0.01 can (feasibly) be from a different perspective.
