One year. Will be interesting to see how we replace him. I think this will reveal much about our ability to strengthen for another push towards the Prem.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
I think he’s done himself a favour more than us. Personally I’d have preferred we kept him here. Better the devil you know and he would have done a good job for us but clearly sees himself as better than the Championship as I suspect Omari will too after his successful U21 Tournament in Slovakia.

Be interesting to see which way it goes with Axel for sure. I wish him well.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
Not sure I’m bothered once he’s gone. That said I will follow Liam Delaps career with interest as I will Omari Hutchinson if we lose him. In my opinion these were two great signings which show the full extent of our owners ambitions for the club.

Totally agree with the above and will also be following both. Do we know if there is a release clause in Omari's contract similar to Delap's?

I get the feeling that the type of player ( quality/ level) that we're after might mean we dont see too much transfer activity until quite late in the window. What do others feel?

I said a few weeks ago that I expected to see a few depart but nothing coming in. I still feel that way.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 4:29 pmI get the feeling that the type of player ( quality/ level) that we're after might mean we dont see too much transfer activity until quite late in the window. Yes agree, might be a case of waiting for some domino’s to fall higher up. Alot of premier league clubs haven’t done much business, ie Newcastle want players but haven’t signed anyone.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 4:29 pmI get the feeling that the type of player ( quality/ level) that we're after might mean we dont see too much transfer activity until quite late in the window. Ashton has recently said it’ll be an active transfer window and talks are started with some targets. The Odious Mr Rossi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 5:22 pmI said a few weeks ago that I expected to see a few depart but nothing coming in. I’m not expecting it to be busy for incoming signings but we will need 3 at least given the lack of central midfielders.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
Well, with Burgess leaving thst now dips our senior squad to 24 i think atm. But we've lost several U21 exemptions due to age increasing , which will nean they either have to be registered or players moved on to make room for their inclusion in the squad, and that's without any incoming. So as you say Gary, players must be leaving. Question us, who lolThe Odious Mr Rossi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 5:22 pmI said a few weeks ago that I expected to see a few depart but nothing coming in. We have a 25 man squad at present - but likely Burns won’t be registered before January and that includes our four keepers.

Any on the list we'd have wanted?
I think we will probably be trying for prem players, i.e fringe ones.

We need to get moving soon, in recent times we've had some in ready for pre season training etc.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
Some free agents:
Kortney Hause - might be a decent replacement for Burges?
Josh Dasilva - fair bit of prem experience
Ben Mee - would take him for a year, as backup but to add leadership
Callum Wilson - 100% take him, iffy injury record but would be v good as rotational striker, but likely has far higher clubs interested in him,
Vladimir Coufal - experienced but again probably out of reach, but would be ok for the RB option for a year.

My dad said we are linked with Alzate - he is at Brighton but was on loan at hull last year, CM - and if anyone had a sharp memory he made an appearance at the pre season friendly against Nice last summer - I was there and recall he looked a bit iffy, I can’t recall how long he played but it was maybe 30mins.
He has done well Last season at Hull though.

So we've now signed keeper number Four, veteran David Button, more keepers than you get at a zoo, surely someone's going, let's pray it's Muric

FIVE Mike....!
Suspect he will be 3rd choice, odd as surely takes another slot? If we got a 19 year old from the youth team he doesnt.
Suspect:
Palmer - 1st choice
Walton - 2nd choice
Button - 3rd choice
Muric - loaned out
Slicker - loaned out

In Portman Road where dreams take flight,
Stands Palmer, bold, our wall of might.
With steady hands and eagle eyes,
He guards the net ‘neath Suffolk skies.
First choice he is, with form so true,
The Tractor Boys remain believing in you.
Behind him waits with quiet grace,
Young Walton, keen to take his place.
A seasoned hand, calm under fire,
Prepared to rise, should fate require.
A loyal soul, with heart so vast,
He knows his chance may come at last.
Then Button stands, the wise old pro,
With tales of games from long ago.
Third in line, but still he trains,
Through winter winds and April rains.
A voice of steel, a guiding sound,
Where younger minds are shaped and found.
Muric may find a loaned-out door,
To spread his wings and grow some more.
With towering frame and fearsome leap,
He’ll earn his place, not sit and weep.
The pitch will call, the crowd will cheer,
He’ll bring his fire when he is near.
And Slicker too, with youthful spark,
May chase the game from town to park.
A keeper built with modern flair,
A future star with time to spare.
Loaned or not, his path is wide—
With Ipswich pride, he'll turn the tide.

The ai machine being kind to big Muric.

Sorry Mike, I don't think its gonna be Muric,(After all who would want him?) I think it'll be either Walton or god forbid Palmer.
