We are all bored/impatien, I get that - but saying that is a bit OTT right now, would be different if we haven’t signed anyone in the next 3 weeks but even if we don’t I think we will definitely do business and those two won’t be our starters for the bulk of the season.

Here ya go Shabba! Do you think we’ll be interested in any of the released players who haven’t signed for another team?

Think I went through some recently - Ben Mee would be a good free if happy to be rotation option. I’d punt on Callum Wilson if wages were ok ish. Not sure if there are many other good free agents?ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 7:23 pmHere ya go Shabba! We really would need to shift someone out, we don't need another LW as we have 3 already, is he really any better than Clark, Broadhead or Philogene. Szmodics also plays there.

Sarmiento .....better - really?
Last championship seasons stats:
Sarmiento Games 35 Goals 4 Assists 0
Philogene Games 32 Goals 12 Assists 6
Clark Games 40 Goals 15 Assists 4
Szmodics Games 44 Goals 27 Assists 4
Appreciate Szmodics played a slightly different positon for his last championship campaign, but still - this is some firepower in that postition, I like Sarmiento but I'd certianly not play him ahead of any of those 4.

Totally agreed, Sarmiento was a really well used player off the bench for us previously but we have moved forwards a lot in overall quality since then.shabba wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 12:14 pmSarmiento .....better - really?

Town are reported to be in advanced negotiations to sign Dutch midfielder Azor Matusiwa from Ligue 1 Rennes.
According to Le Parisien, Matusiwa was left out of a friendly against Saint-Brieuc this morning with discussions regarding a move to the Blues close to being finalised.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder joined Rennes from Reims in January 2024 for €16 million (£13.8 million) having started his career at Ajax, before spells with De Graafschap (loan) and Groningen prior to moving to France and Reims in 2021.
Matusiwa, who is contracted to his current club until 2028, was born in Hilversum and played international football for the Netherlands at U16 and U21 levels but also qualifies for play for Angola.
The 5ft 8in tall midfielder is the second France-based player reported to be closing in on a move to the Blues over the last 24 hours with Reims defender Cédric Kipré having been reported to be nearing a loan move to Town yesterday.

Azor Matusiwa was not part of the Rennes squad that faced Saint-Brieuc in a friendly match this Thursday (1-1). Questioned after the match, Habib Beye explained that the Dutch midfielder was leaving. As revealed by Le Parisien, which we can confirm, the 27-year-old, under contract until June 2028, will join Ipswich Town.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
One guy said this about him:
Ridiculously I have seen him play a fair few times, he was in the team when Will Still started trending so started following them a little closer in 22/23 season - ironically when I first saw/noticed Jens Cajuste who was also there.
Was part of a really good Stade De Reims team, that went 16/17 games unbeaten that year, including J.Ito, Balogun, Cajuste, Agbadou (Now at Wolves), and was the ever present partner with Marshall Munetsi who went to Wolves in January.
You would liken his style to that of N'Golo Kante (obviously not comparing the levels), but he's diminutive, but a good ball winner, ball player and covers ground so so well.
Unbelievable to be honest if he comes here.

Town are reported to have agreed an €11.5 million fee for Rennes midfielder Azor Matusiwa with the Blues close to making the Dutchman their first outfield signing of the summer.
Earlier, reports in France indicated that Matusiwa had been pulled out of the squad playing a friendly with Saint-Brieuc as negotiations with the Blues were advanced.
According to L’Equipe, a fee of €11.5 million (£9.9 million) has been agreed between the clubs.
We understand Matusiwa is due at the club this afternoon to complete the formalities on his switch.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder joined Rennes from Reims in January 2024 for €16 million (£13.8 million) having started his career at Ajax, after joining the Amsterdam club as a schoolboy from Almere City, before spells with De Graafschap (loan) and Groningen prior to moving to France and Reims in 2021.
Matusiwa, who is contracted to his current club until 2028, was born in Hilversum and played international football for the Netherlands at U16 and U21 levels but also qualifies for play for Angola.

I would never ever disagree with people who watch most of the ITFC games. I must’ve only witnessed the games that SAR-MIEN-TO was almost unplayable.
So far…… What i’ve witnessed of Philogene….. (And Kay-Juice) ——>> nowt to write home about. Missed all their good stuff.

The problem is people are comparing a player playing in the championship vs the premier league. As we found out, the level is insanely different.marko69 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 2:48 pmI would never ever disagree with people who watch most of the ITFC games. Oh yes, for sure, I was one of the few relegation tippers even though being the biggest believer in the Messiah……. Which proves i’m very much aware of the difference in class……
….. but Philogene wouldn’t get into a Hibs Team!!!

Well I watch every game and my views are the same as yours. That said Shabba is correct in one thing and that is the different leagues so I'm obviously giving Philogene the opportunity to show me this season what he can do, my concern is he looks to have the build and strength of a Fourteen year old schoolboy.marko69 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 2:48 pmI would never ever disagree with people who watch most of the ITFC games. If we get this done we'll still need another Midfielder though, in my opinion anyhow.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 3:30 pmLooks like the midfield is all but sorted lol

Agree Philogene has looked woeful so far, I’m hoping it’s a confidence thing and he can do a lot better this season as there must be a player in their if he did so well in the champ last time and we spent so much on him etc, plus he had been playing for England u21’s and there are decent players even at that level.
