I can’t say I know much about him Liz but I guess it’s defensively where we most need strengthening. In that respect then I guess he fits the bill.

He's also hit a fantastic long ball pass across the park. Does it a lot and it appears to be very accurate from the clips I've seen.
Found this video. He looks pretty solid to me in this...

From that video clip, I can see he has great vision and passes the ball quickly. He also looks physical and doesn’t get pushed off the ball.

One thing is for sure with those Two signings we seem to have definitely added a fair bit of strength and steel to the team, kipre is a proper unit and thus Matusiwa guy also looks very strong. Ashton wasn't joking when he said about looking for a different type of player, our defence was bullied all too often and looked pretty lightweight so I'm happy with the change there.

Apparently he has a £35m relegation release clause in his contract. Agent knew what he was doing getting that written into his contract did he….

Definitely a much more inspiring signing than Kipre - although a defensive midfielder he moves the ball quickly and has excellent vision and passing.

Translates
Marcel Ruíz could fulfil his European dream
Ipswich Town has sent a formal offer for Marcel Ruiz of 10MDD to Toluca
Borussia Mönchengladbach and Nice have asked about Marcel Ruíz (24) however the only one who has sent an offer is the English club
Toluca analyses the offer and will give an answer this week in order to speed up the movement
Im quite excited even though I have no idea about him!

Yeah weird one, I’d keep him for his leadership qualities.
Also surely Derby wouldn’t offer what he is on here, even if they offered two year deal. Surely it’s worth him staying here - he is settled etc, or going for a big salary to the UAE if that was an option.
IMO him and the new Dutch guy are one position and then cam and another new cm are the other, so Taylor is the surplus one

I rrally dont rate Taylor. He's never really stepped up has he. Ole Varry Fry did a number on us again!

I think Taylor in a different role could be useful in the Championship. Against lesser defences, he may be get a few long shots on goal. That goal he scored against Wolves was superb. I wouldn’t lose sleep if he leaves though.
Morsy is a tough one. If he’d be willing to play a different role as a sub, I think he would be useful later on in games, and his leadership would still benefit the squad.
I do think it’s maybe time to cash in on Omari while we can. He may excel at a PL club, but I’m not sure he will with us.
Marcel Ruiz is 24 and he’s beginning to get noticed. Under KM’s tutelage Ruiz could be a bargain at 10mil.

Blues forward Omari Hutchinson’s £35 million relegation release clause is reportedly set to expire today.
Yesterday, Premier League Brentford were said to see Hutchinson as a potential replacement for Bryan Mbeumo should the Cameroon international move to Manchester United.
According to The Athletic, the Bees made an approach for Hutchinson yesterday but with a deal looking unlikely as it stands and the Town attacker one of a handful of players they see as possible alternatives to Mbeumo.
The West Londoners’ valuation is said to have fallen well short of the £35 million relegation release clause which is reportedly set to expire today.
Hutchinson, who has four years remaining on his Town contract, is currently away on holiday having been given additional time off following the England U21s’ successful European Championship campaign.
The former Chelsea man’s displays at the tournament did his reputation no harm with the Bees, Everton, West Ham, Fulham, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig among those linked during the competition, although with sources on Merseyside subsequently playing down the Toffees’ interest.
Town will want to keep hold of Hutchinson, who signed on a permanent basis from Chelsea last summer for a club record initial £20 million plus a further £2.5 million in top-ups.
Good if true, it kinda puts it back in our control and doesn't force our hand.

Gosh yes!!
Even if he wanted to go surely we can say we'd want a decent profit on him, i.e 35m+. No point us spending 20m+ and selling for less than 30.
He would BEAST the championship. I just worry as Asthon did say '1 or 2 sales to fund transfers' - and we''ve sold only delap for money, and spent a little bit already too. I thoght delap would be the balancing of the books, and another player would go to fund other transfers.

How does a relegation contract clause expire? Sorry dont understand this. In any case Town will demand that £35m as a fee if any club still wants Omari and since he's on a 4yr contract id say he's pretty much likely to stay now. I'm very happy if this is the case....

Yes this rumour looks solid IMO. Morsy has been a rock for us and very much centre stage in our double promotion. He also did better than I expected last season but not really well enough for that role in a Prem side tbh. Wish him well in Kuwait (imagine the family will live in Dubai and he'll commute). Hope its a nice lucrative contract and I'm sure whichever side is getting him will get excellent value from him for another couple of years yet.
Thanks for everything Sammy Morsy.
Presumably a lumpy salary off the books too, ready for another CM to come in.

He definitely is a legend of the club, for 2 years he pretty much bossed every match and was integral to our back to back promotions. Last season was tough for everyone Morsy included and had he had better around him he'd have had more chance.
I wish him well and hope he gets the move he deserves, a great player, a great captain and a great leader. All the best skip.

If he goes I do worry we lack leadership? Beyond O'Shea who do we have? Maybe the 2 new guys can add a bit, one of them did say he likes to lead (the dutch CM).
I imagine the striker we bring in will be young /prem loan etc.
So other than that there aren't many older/senior leader types in the club?

I’d go as far to say as it was Morsy equally with The Messiah who got those B2B promos for the club.
That night @ The Gas when he was ready for headbutting a few ITFC fans ——>> no doubt went back into those changing rooms and read the riot act —->> “Fk this! We can’t have the fans getting under our skins so FKN PULL your fingers out!” ….. and it worked. Almost literally from that night, it worked.
For me he’s a loss for next season even at his age because he’s a bit of a machine. But the club will move on……. With less yellows!
Masses of luck to you Sammy boy.

TWTD understands Town are showing strong interest in Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney.
The 23-year-old has been on the Blues’ radar all summer but Town have now stepped up their interest and have made an approach to the Teessiders regarding the England U21 international.
Hackney had been expected to get a Premier League move this summer, however, Boro are yet to receive any serious interest in the one-time Scunthorpe United loanee from top-flight clubs.
The Blues are in the market for more central midfielders with loanees Jens Cajuste and Kalvin Phillips having moved on at the end of the season, Massimo Luongo having been released and skipper Sam Morsy in talks with Kuwait SC about a switch.
Redcar-born Hackney came through the youth system at Boro, his local club, having joined the club as an U10.
He was part of the England U21s squad which won the European Championships in Slovakia last month alongside Town forward Omari Hutchinson.
For me this would be another excellent addition although I'd be shocked if he came here what with talk in the past of Prem clubs being keen. Fingers crossed

No surprise here. ....
TWTD understands League One Luton Town are eyeing Blues striker Ali Al-Hamadi.
The Iraq international ended last season on loan at Stoke City and it would be little surprise if he moved on this summer, either on the same basis or permanently.
We understand the Hatters are considering a move for the 23-year-old with manager Matt Bloomfield having previously worked with him at Wycombe Wanderers.
If he were to leave Town, Al-Hamadi would presumably prefer a move to the Championship, however, Luton, a Premier League club only 14 months ago, look well set to stage a title challenge during 2025/26.
Town would only consider Al-Hamadi departing should they add to their striking ranks with George Hirst currently their only number nine following the £30 million departure of Liam Delap to Chelsea.
The Blues are likely to want three out-and-out strikers with Chelsea youngster Marc Guiu a target, although with the player believed to be hesitant regarding a move to the Championship.
US international Patrick Agyemang was also on Town’s radar but is closing in on an $8 million (£6 million) plus $2 million (£1.5 million) in add-ons switch to Derby County.
Al-Hamadi has made three starts and 24 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring five goals, since signing from AFC Wimbledon for around £1 million in January 2024, signing a deal which runs to the summer of 2028.
While at Stoke in the second half of last season, the Liverpool-raised frontman made 11 starts and four sub appearances, scoring twice.

My word this would be SOME signing if so!! Huge statement of intent IMO. Not going to hold my breath as I suspect prem clubs will be sniffing.

100% this Mach.... itll be sad to see him go but I think he'll get a great 2 yr deal out there. Also I wouldn't want him appearing at PR in a rivals colours ....
