Town were interested in Danny K

Post by Dazza » Thu Feb 09, 2006 12:08 pm

Joe Royle has revealed that he tried to bring Danny Karbassiyoon to the Club last summer before the American joined Burnley.

Karbassiyoon spent three months on loan at Portman Road last season before returning to Arsenal, making six appearances for Blues.

He was released by the Gunners in the summer and joined Burnley on a two year contract but Town boss Joe told the Club website: "Danny made a big impression here and we did make a late enquiry about him in the summer.

"I would have loved to have brought him to the Club but at the time we did not quite have the funds available."

Karbassiyoon will be included in the Burnley squad for Saturday's game but is likely to start on the bench.

Is it me or did anyone else think he was totally useless? Possibly worse than Richards at left back?

He was OK for the level, he didn't set the world alight though... and if he's no better than richards was - seems as if we saved ourselves some money!

Didn't see anything spectacular in him for us to want to sign him, 9 out of 10 crosses ended up in the stands.
