Too right - since the ineption of PTV sites the general quality of all football club websites has diminished. Yes the sites might look a little nicer, but the amount of adverts and news stories which push you to their "WORLD" sites is poor and stinks of trying to pull a few more pounds out of the fans!!crazee wrote:no club should win the best website award, they are all pretty much the same, if Sunderland or Westham were still down id give them the award for best site.
For me the web presents a media form which should be shared and available to everyone. Whilst the website could be used for increasing revenue - I don't think a website should be subscriber based like the PTV WORLD sites. They offer an extra drain on the wallet of the average fan who have probably already given too much to begin with.
If they are looking for a top website then they need to look at an alternative to PTV sites. They need to be looking at clubs who want to promote themselves in innovative ways.
So what if we win "best website award" will it change anything - no!!
Personally I never use the "official" site - I can't stand PTV and the way they have destroyed the majority of football websites. These sites used to be unique to the clubs they were run for - they represented the size and budgets of those clubs and in part improved their quality solely on that basis. The lifeless money pushing pilth we have now is hardly worthy or recognition let alone awards - and that goes for all PTV sites!!!
Anyway - on the brighter side - it is now 5.05!!!

I agree PTV are fvckin sh*t but they are only the server, it's still up to the clubs to update it etc.crazee wrote:every site has that. Our news updates may be slow, but we have loads of interviews and things like that for Ipswich World members.
and just been looking round, Southampton dont have a world site they should get the award
