Top half (hopefully 8th or 9th) would be a good result I reckon. Playoffs would be an overachievement (but bloody great) with the strength of the league this season.

I pretty much agree with that Chris, I think the play-off's will be an outstanding achievement with the much reduced squad we're going to have.

Things have started well Jus, look at the table on the official site - we're 8th!

I've gone for play-offs. :D

In a way i'm glad that we're gonna be reliant on younger players. Its such a difficult league to get out of, i think the younger ones energy and fight will be a breath of fresh air that could benifit us in a long season. De Vos and Horlock's old heads will help control them and keep them in line.

What :!: :!: :!: I'm trying to be positive. :?

Exactly , i say why not ???

The attack that scored 80 goals is still exactly the same ( except jamma who didnt score many and i think rivers ( if we get him ) will add more to the attack anyway ! )

I think the defence which was our big weakness last year has only been improved with a decent holding role midfield player and a huge defender

The yound defenders sound like they are impressing in denmark too so i dont see why we cant challenge for the title !!

People see " exodus " but none of those players had a huge impact on last season did they ????? So why do people think that we will miss these players ? ( ok maybe mcgreal and possibly reuser but thats it and we have replaced these 2 anyway)

Ipswich for title !!

theres your confidence !!

I've gone for top half, if we made the play-offs that would be a bonus :D

I don't think the squad is any weaker than at the beginning of last season. I felt then that playoffs would be a good achievement (and a success for Joe Royle) and I feel the same now.

Still far too early to tell.

Looking at how things stand at the moment, I'd say top half but missing out on the play-offs.

With the way the squad is looking would be nice to make the playoffs again.
There again at the start of last season who would have said the playoffs?
So fingers crossed that we start well this season and i think the question can then be answered at the end of Sept!

For me, I think our financial performance this season is just as important, if not a tad more important than our final position in the ladder. I know it's all linked and our success on the field will result in more SKY games, better cup runs, crowds, etc. but if we can finish in the 6th-10th position on the ladder and break even I'll be a very happy camper.

Gone For Top Half, Think were gonna start Average to poor then get couple of new players in, Durring the season either on loan or buy a couple and then pick up towards the end, hopefully it wont be too late to get a play off play. Much the same sort of season as the last 1 and i wouldnt be 2 disapointed

I'm going for an automatic promotion place because we have just failed to make the P/ O's with a squad consisting of young acadamy players and one that has been dessimated by injury to it's more established pros - and practically ALL of our strikers - unprescidented IMO .....

....sooooo if we had even a modicom of "luck" on the injury front next season, AND keep this crop of talented youngsters together with the addition of a couple more "mid - twenties" players - I feel we will be a match for any other team in this divison..or put another way

which two teams do you think would be better than us ??

wohat ever teams dont go up in the playoffs this year will be a threat but as yo said, if we keep the young talented players that we have at the moment and add to it with a bit of experience then we will be a match for any other team in the division.
