:D Sorry chaps!!! I got a bit delayed having taken my in-laws to the game and participating in a drop of falling down juice afterwards!!

Ok here we go..Just over 24,000 turned up to see off the skipper Jim Magilton in his final game at PR.The sun was out and before the whisle had blown,The faithfull were in good voice to sing "Super Jim Magilton".

In truth Derby were fortunate not to be leading 3 mabe 4 nil at the break.Several good chances comming their way due to very sloppy marking by,IMO,Devos. As much as Devos may be commanding at the back with his head,On the floor he truely is a snail!! Because of his apparent lack of pace,He has to try and gain that extra yard or two over his opponent, thus resulting not marking the player up close. BFJ simply needs to address this if we are seriously going to challenge for a promotion slot next season.

Mceverly,as he did against Watford last week, showed us all what he realy is capable of and had a good, solid game at left back. His distribution was marginally better, He is strong on the ball, when he wants to be,his problem is that we as supporters pay good money to see that strength every week, when we want it!! I susspect that BFJ has told this player that if you can prove to me and the supporters that you are as good as BFJ knows he is,He may revert his decision and try to sign him.I believe that their is a better, more committed left back out their to be found.

Fabian collected an injury mid way through the first half, having collected the player of the season, won by being passionate rather than skillfull i think! Sito replacing him who looked lively and had an outstanding game.

We never looked like scoring in the first half,Forster and Haynes looked lively enough, but the hoofball comming their way was poor. I shouted my disscust at De-vos in particular for attempting to play that 30 yard inch perfect ball that only a few WORLD CLASS players perform on a daily basis. We have NO ONE in this current squad, apart from the occasional one from currie, who can do it,so why do they bother trying?

When Forster scored our opening goal from a snap shot just outside of the area,The confidence rose like a phoenix rising through the ashes from the Ipswich squad. They started to pass the ball about and looked like a team ready to demolish a Derby side with Brazillian footie. Instead of these hurried, rash long hoofed balls from defence,we were playing on the deck and you just felt that another goal was comming our way soon.
Forster had a second ruled correctly for off side against the providing Currie,However Currie soon made ammends for a snap shot that moved in the air sailing past the Diving Derby keeper....2-0.

The crowd were now enjoying their football and were seeing their Ipswich Back.Balloons and mexican waves were the order of the day as being the best send off anyone could give to a servent of the club of the stature of Magilton. His lap of honour being shared with his two sons in Full kit followed by the rest of the players. It was noted too by this supporter that on being prompted by the faithfull in full voice.."Royle! Royle! Give us a wave?...Royal! Give us a wave?.....He duely obliged.

I will be going to Plymouth and i hope to see a return of our passing game.I am of the opinion that if this squad sticks to the basics and plays the passing game to feet,no matter what the score may be,we could demolish any side.If we can get 20 games out of Nicky Forster next season,we are in with a shout. The defence still needs to be addressed,Mr De-vos 's severe lack of pace is costing us too dearly. Mabe now that perhaps should he be made the official club captain,He will spur himself onto new heights........enjoy the rest of the season!

I agree about that and he was a nice bloke to chat to at the awards night. As for Barron, he might not have played well recently, but what a good looking lad he is.

If only I was a few years younger.................................. well ok, lots of years younger.

McEveley may have had a good game saturday but overall he has not impressed me in his time at Town.
I therefore hope that JR does not backtrack and sign him as imo we already have enough players on our books who have the occasional good game but for the majority of the time just do not perform to the standards required.

Have to agree with your comments shed, In my playing days and at 1.5 ton lighter before i found that lager was nice to sup! The left back position was my position and i grew up with the great Mick Mills and how it should be done.
Mceverly has been and indeed showed us all what BFJ bought him here for, what he can do.The question is if he cant do this for the whole season as he has indicated, then we can ill afford another bench player. I like you hope that BFJ sticks to his statement and allow Mceverly to return home, for i susspect that there will be a more committed player available to purchase or loan for the season.

Actually within .01 secs of royal waving back at the north stand he was returned with "you fat b*stard, you fat b*stard!"

The songs of "royal for england" had me in stitchs.

The folks behind me in north were starting up chants from 6 years ago, had everyone in pieces.

Im pretty sure most of the north stand were paying no attention to the game at all and generally just singing. "Its more fun, when you all join in.." etc.
Think we were all caught unaware when the goals went in.

The crowd was awesome and best atmos all year imho.

I also agree with you Shed. Thats the problem with some of our Town Fans.. We see a player do well in one game and he is an instant hero
and then at the end of the season we slate them. I am jot syaing I am not
guilty of that, but it appears to me that whenever we have a good game we are really saying thatnk god for small mercies. Its not small mercies we want but consistant triers.
