For those of us who did not get to the game today
So whats your views on todays game, we lost again...
Personally I am not at all suprised, it was hardly a game that
was gonna do anything for us but show pride. As for Plymouth like
a kpot of teams I have seen in the last few weeks they will not give up
on their finalm run or final game at home, so really its not surprising
and of course we at ITFC are non the wiser as to how we will be able
to perform next season. Usually when things like this happen you can only expect to carry on in the same vain.
Amyways allways interested in other peoples real opinions.

Not a bit suprised either Earl !...Ive just looked at the fixture list - and boy, did we fall away badly after we lost to Preston (march). In fact we proceeded to record the following.Earl Blue wrote:So whats your views on todays game, we lost again...

Certainly a transitional season isnt it - or is it ???
WE NEED a whole new back four IMO and another midfielder to stand any hope next season of being up there with the big boys in this div.
I doubt we will get all these players - and so it will be Joe's last season with us. I know there a good many on here that will be very pleased with that situation - BUT I still think that any other manager would have had exactly the same problems as Joe Royle has had ...The effects of administration bite long and hard IMO - at least we havent gone down, as we should, on paper (having lost the nucleus of the side last year) have been relegated this season!

Imo I think those two words sum up a lot of what some of our players are lacking.
If only they had the same commitment to the cause as those fans who travelled all the way down to Plymouth to support them today then I'm convinced we would have finished higher in the league this season regardless of all the injury problems.

Surely its only 'transitional' if the team of lasts season was replaced with a new one who are getting use to each other? The way I see it is we are gradually getting worse and in no way was it a 'transitional' season because we replaced a decent quality of player for some average ones
and we are having a mass clearout again meaning surely next season is transitional one aswell? Without some good signings things will only be worse next season IMO with the home support getting more and more restless, although I hope im pleasantly surprised because there is some promise there, but we need at least 2 new defenders, wich wont happen because Royle seems to think De Vos an Naylor are world class

I suppose it is tranistional in terms of the affect the administraion has had on the Club's aility to go out and replace players that have left as a direct result of our financial nightmare. The "transitional period" is IMO going to be in the region of ten years - and even then we will probably never ever get back to the level we were before admin.ippers wrote:Surely its only 'transitional' if the team of lasts season was replaced with a new one who are getting use to each other? It is only during the latter half of this season, some three years or more since going into admin - that our obligations to service our debt have been "adjusted" - presumably to free up cash to Joe.
But I must admit I am confused by the mixed messages we continue to get from ITFC about having on the one hand cutting our playing staff, to meet the required wage bill limit, selling players like Bent, Davis etc - yet we still "have no funds to spend on players" - yet JR is saying we will be bringing in three or four nex players for next season.
The truth of the matter is we are STILL in a re- building situation- but since this has to be dome on the back on season long loans and Bosman players - it will take (whoever is manager) a long time to get the "mix" right !

It was a typical end of season performance. Obviously the boys are now just thinking of the 6/7 weeks off they have before starting training again, for the crunch season. All i can say, is thank god it is over. We can now start to rebuild around the current crop of talent we have (Haynes, Clarke, Garvan et al). Bring on next season!

We're in a transitional decade, not season.ippers wrote:Surely its only 'transitional' if the team of lasts season was replaced with a new one who are getting use to each other? In my post AM I a pessimist Isaid I cant see any reason for the much needed dramatic improvement for next season.......and I still dont.Selling players like sito IMHO sends the wrong message and makes me believe that joe thinks his defence is good enough
.
We may as well prepare ourselves for much of the same next season.

P 10 W 1 L 6 D 3absolutely shocking run of results. in fact had we not beaten Derby last week we would have lost every single game we played in April !
