Here where I live is denmarks second largest city. The main and nearly only professinal team here AGF have been religated for the first time ever. The club were started in 1880 and have always been in the top flight no matter whats its been called. In the eighties they started a superleague....the biggest and best this country has to offer, thats 12 teams. Its a hard pill to swallow for the locals.
They have a fantastic home stadium wehich seats 20,000 plus and played host to barca last pre season. They have like barca their own handball club ,football club, basketball club, atheletics club....etc.The towns taking it badly.

Sounds like the club must have been suffering from 'it'll never happen to me' syndrome. Does Danish footy generally need a bit of a wake up ?

Yes it does.Domestically they cant compete with the rich european countries like italy, england, and germany. The national team is quite good and normally always in the big tournaments alot like norway and sweeden.
