Sir Bobby Robson

Post by wicked blue » Sun May 07, 2006 7:47 am

The former England manager has had surgery to remove an egg-sized tumour from a lung.

It was discovered by chance after he injured his ribs during a skiing accident in France.

Sir Bobby, 73, went to the doctor for a check-up and a shadow was spotted on the lung in an X-ray.

Further checks showed it was cancer and surgeons operated at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital

At least the op seems to have been a success. Really hope he recovers from this, its the 3rd time he's had cancer after all :( Get well soon Sir Bobby.

Indeed. All the best Sir Bobby, and thoughts go to his friends and family during this rough time.

It's always rough when someone and their family have to go through multiple cancer scares.
