Darren Bent - gutted
from BBC SPORT
England omission disappoints Bent
Charlton striker Darren Bent will book an immediate holiday after being overlooked for this summer's World Cup.
Bent, the top scoring Englishman in the Premiership this season with 18 goals, was not only left out of Eriksson's squad but also the standby list.
"I am obviously really disappointed," Bent said on his agents' website.
"I wasn't taking anything for granted but I was very hopeful of being included. All I can do now is go away on holiday and recharge my batteries."
I really feel for the lad, he's worked so hard for this.

getting subbed at half time of their thrashing at united ,curbishley said he did it to give benty a rest for the upcoming world cup....and our club bragging up the fact we could get 400,000 from benty playing two WC matches...some people are eating shoe leather with their optimistic media comments, and I am for one way to shocked to even try to figure out what the 4 eyed turnip is thinking.

Sounds so sarcastic... but sadly its all true!TractorRob88 wrote:Looks like if Bent wants a chance of getting into the World Cup picture he should join an underachieving Championship team and score less goals. Oh, and play sh*t on the one England game you have.
OR, better still get Wenger to say your good when youve done jackshit so far, except run.

I think I'm just as gutted as Bent, I was (and still am) in a foul mood.

Being top English goal scorer in the premiership isnt good enough for a world cup place. Not even in the team , squad would be good enough.Luke wrote:He simply isnt good enougth!Dubai Blue wrote:I wonder if that is the key question TP. One England game. Not a great success but no worse than some others - maybe he did upset someone then.
