Dredging up old ground here, what are / were people's views on this when it was first proposed - its obviously unlikely to happen now as Layer Rd is being upgraded, but would people go to watch the U's play as well - whats in it for Town (presumably a cut of the sales), and is it worth the hallowed turf being torn up by overuse?? What were the Colchester fans take on it? Bit of a extra journey, they'd rattle around the place too!

As an Ipswich fan, I wouldnt be interested.
It would have to really help us £ wise for me to be ok with it, but it wont, so thats why it wont go ahead.
Think we're only 15miles away from Colchster, so its not too bad!

why would they need a stadium that is 5 times the size of there current ground?
i wouldn't want them here, unless like Dazza said we could earn lots from it
