Why not? Muric’s mistake was cocky ignorance. I’m not saying he should be benched for good, but I think Walton’s professionalism should be rewarded. I just don’t like the look on Muric’s face, to be honest. He should have saved Haaland’s third goal! I think a few games on the bench would do Muric a world of good. Just my opinion, but his body language & facial expressions exude egotism.

You don’t spend 10m on a GK to decide after one game to bench him.
Let’s let the manager to do the managing.
Just seems incredibly knee jerk to make such statements.

Yes agreed, it indeed may not work, or they may have to change approach, but he has been asked to play that way, he is not being arrogant or doing it to show off.
Goalkeepers need time to settle and build confidence, mistakes far far more often come from insecurities and rustiness than overconfidence. See where he is after half a dozen games, that's at least what you need to bed in as a keeper (sadly).

Did I say write him off? No I didn’t, but he needs to take responsibility. Let’s see who starts in goal against Fulham. I won’t be surprised if it’s Walton because Muric gets an injury.

On the subject of Muric, I believe he was dropped at Burnley for conceeding goals exactky like the c*ck up he prespresented with MC today.
He did the same in a couple of pre season games . All have happened when he has the ball at his feet. Then he makes blinding saves!
He did the same for Burnley, when they then brought him back into the team in their remaining games.
Now, Town MUST havd been aware of this trait in his play, yet decided to go for him.
Maybe they think they can coach this out of him, I don't know, but It's basically his decision making (when to boot it one of bring the ball out) that's the problem.
He has physical presence , is a man mountain in that box and hands like shovels and can clearly savd a shig. His weakness is getting caught with the ball at his feet when he should have moved the ball on.
Sort his feet out and we have a bloody good GK I think.

He was championship goalie of the season, he was dropped because they bought the then England u21 keeper for £20m as part of a 19 man overhaul of the squad.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 9:40 pmOn the subject of Muric, I believe he was dropped at Burnley for conceeding goals exactky like the c*ck up he prespresented with MC today.

He returned for Burnley with 10 games to go and had the highest save to shots percentage record for any prem keeper over that time. (He also let in a couple of clangers).

If you have to teach ball skills to a Premier League goalie you’re fighting an uphill battle. Hope I’m wrong, but I think we got it wrong on the Muric transfer and when you consider the amount of money we paid for him! Burnley ownership is laughing all the way to the bank!
Like I said hope I’m wrong, and you can chastise me for my opinion. I’ll happily raise my hand.

He was also heavily criticised by their fans last season, for exactly what he did today... and was called out on MOTD for his antics too.shabba wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 9:52 pmHe was championship goalie of the season, he was dropped because they bought the then England u21 keeper for £20m as part of a 19 man overhaul of the squad.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 9:40 pmOn the subject of Muric, I believe he was dropped at Burnley for conceeding goals exactky like the c*ck up he prespresented with MC today.

He just needs to sort his decision making out and his feet. Otherwise, as I've already stated, he looks to be an awesome keeper. But also remember, He wasn't Town's preferred keeper target this window.

With the Broja deal looking more and more likely going tits up.
The question is now who do we move forward with?
I realize we will have a plan b,c,d, and e if needed.
Just wondering who might it be?

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
We might have to push Sammie more upfront as he still reacts swiftly. Still, it wouldn't have hurt to perhaps keep Keifer on the books until Hirst became available or a suitable replacement striker was found, also what happened to Sarmiento He seems to have disappeared off the map??? last heard he was heading for Aberdeen. We had the option of another loan for him, let's see what happens next week before the window closes I'm sure KM must have a reserve planned striker to hunt down, and also we need to shift a few players out and off the books and Freddie is the main one to push out with his wages. and on another note 5 at the back ain't working we looked cluttered up at the back and invited unwanted pressure, I'm once all the new players are in place we can get back to our quality passing game.

Well, Burgess is already now beachwear. Sp hopefully Woolfenden to follow his path to the bench.
Ive waited a long time for the club to sort the defence out, which to my mind has always been weak. Hopefully we'll now see a stronger CB pairing.

It is brutal on our double promotion winners but lets not forget we conceded 57 goals last season. Therefore better defenders was what we have been after.
McKenna sqeezed everything out of the players last season. He knows they played at their top level and they've no higher level.

Who would you choose then Mike and who's still available this week to sign ??? ideally, someone like Kiefer is big and strong and not afraid to mix it in the box, I'm sure Man City must have a spare one or two strikers

I would doubt it mate. Due to have zero money. Even for loans.
Wouldn’t shock me to you guys turn him down to a dodgy medical and him to fly through ours though. Been linked with him since Lampard days.

I'm struggling to come up with a name Ash tbh, as long as it isn't Broja, not liking the sound of this Achilles problem one bit. I'll have a little think lol.ashfordblue wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 3:11 pmWho would you choose then Mike and who's still available this week to sign ??? ideally, someone like Kiefer is big and strong and not afraid to mix it in the box, I'm sure Man City must have a spare one or two strikersas they keep signing players from all over the place, just like Chelsea
