Re: Transfer Rumours
Been looking at the Derby forum, most rate him highly when played CM, he was used all over the place last season. I would actually like us to go for Cashin the Derby Centre Back, was very impressed with him last season at PR.

Think we would all like that CB but many clubs will be after him, inc lower premier league.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I still wouldn’t rule it out! Can see us being a club to put the cash on the table, and convince players with the project. He’d get more game time here etc.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I hope we start seeing some deals soon, a lot of clubs are now signing players, I did kinda think we would get our business done early and while the window has only just opened it seems we are in no rush. It was interesting to read one of our prospective deals has been delayed by a bloody agent, probably Simms.

Re: Transfer Rumours
My heart says I’d expect signings by now but realistically my head thinks it’s likely to be a slower process. Some have signed players but probably most clubs haven’t done much business as yet, a lot of players and staff will be on holiday still.
Players want to weigh up their options and such too. Different perhaps for free agents which might be easier to sign now.
We still haven’t seen the kit, news on town tv and such - so we just need to be patient and know there is no doubt alot of hard work being done in the background.

Free agents are free agents for a reason though aren’t they . The ones we want are in contract and likely in demand . I agree with you relatively imminent signings probably not happening just yet .

Re: Transfer Rumours
Yes to some extent I agree with that at this lower level, but there is certainly a shift now in players running down contracts - it makes a lot of sense, they can move where they want and get more money in signing on fees and such as the new club isn’t paying a transfer. I think we’ll see this happen more and more in the coming years. If you look at the top level free agents this year then you could put a pretty impressive XI together with those.

Aluko sighs a new one year deal
Pleased about that snd suspect he’ll be behind the scenes more than on the pitch . But good on him. Top bloke by all accounts ……

Re: Transfer Rumours
To be honest I don't get this Liz, he's not gonna play any significant part so its taking up a place in the squad, bit underwhelmed at this tbh.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Unless I’ve missed something, so far we’ve been linked with forwards and midfielders. Will the apparent need for CBs be addressed, or do MA & KM feel we’re adequately covered in that area? I think we need at least one additional CB.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Highly suspect we will get a CB, but no rush as we have five on the books still (including Baggott and Ndaba).
If we start the season with any combo of the three senior ones then it’s fine, so I feel the club will know they need another but can take their time on this one.
Relax, the club will be working hard and it’s very early days still.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Oh I don’t think he’ll be in the squad . I think he’s more behind the scenes . If u look at what McKenna says about him , it’s not “ on the pitch” he’s referring to but more influence at the club.

Re: Transfer Rumours
And the absolute IDEAL job. It’d be like employing a guy to sit in the heating van in case the other guy hurts his back lifting a boiler. And pay him £600 a week.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 7:32 amOh I don’t think he’ll be in the squad . I think he’s more behind the scenes . Aluko , (as behind the scenes guy) has the Carslberg job…….. and on minimum of £3K a week i’d imagine.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Yes exactly, championship rules state all players are a place I believe , where as in the lower leagues GK and young players don’t count.
It does surprise me a little but KM and co will know the numbers and what they want the squad to look like come September. I guess if they keep bringing in young players then it’s good to have some older heads in there.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Blues youngster Corrie Ndaba has joined Scottish Premiership Kilmarnock on loan for the 2023/24 season.
The 23-year-old centre-half, who is contracted to Town until the summer of 2025, spent the first half of last season on loan at Burton before joining Fleetwood on a similar basis in January.
The Irish U21 call-up, who has also had stints on loan at Hemel Hempstead, Chelmsford, Ayr United and Salford, has made four stats and one sub appearance for the Blues, all in cup competitions.
Hopefully a good move for him.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Definitely a good move, personally I don't think he is good enough for this level and I suspect he will be on his way at the end of this season at the latest.

Re: Transfer Rumours
No, I agree, I think a lot of these young players will gradually get filtered out as we progress towards PL. We will bring in a better caliber of young player to develop who have been rehearsed by the top PL clubs I think. And do we increase our quality over time.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Poor destination IMO as hard to judge the Scottish league against the English leagues, so even if he does well nobody really knows his EFL level. Plus Scottish clubs baring the top 2 have no money - ie to sign him next year for a feee if he did well up there.
Much rather see him get a league one loan where he might play. (Didn’t work well last time though!)

Re: Transfer Rumours
Lots of competition for Ellis it seems, but a post on twtd seems to think we’ve clinched it in a £4.5m deal.
Just have to wait,(hope) and see I guess.

That's a shed load of money for him though.
