Do you think with the Euros being on that it might make a difference in signing anyone?

Yup. Going by last night's results, soon the England team will all be sale for a nominal £1 each.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:10 amDo you think with the Euros being on that it might make a difference in signing anyone?

Yes but congratulations to Jack Grealish for not making the England Euros squad, and securing a 4 week holiday in Ibiza.

You’d be broken after 4 days out there let alone 4 weeks

We and some other clubs are linked with a 17 year old forward at a Queen’s Park (Scotland club not QPR).

I saw that yesterday Shabba, very interesting but the step up is about as big as it gets.

Ashford, Was going to pull up on the same thing at time of posting but you've since addressed it. Maybe it's a minor issue, but not really acceptable when 20 years + veterans and established names need endure backlash from those that have been here five minutes or prove simply unrecognized.ashfordblue wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 11:48 pmDenny61 you Cheeky Git we don't come on here to take the p*ss out of someone's comments, I've been on this forum a lot longer than you so try showing some respect were not all perfect but try to understand what I was commenting about and don't criticise, I shall expect an apologetic reply ok
There won't be no apology but take the time to provide own respect on behalf of others. Maybe it's a trivial thing but just find offense when forum veterans become subject to insolence from newcomers. Guess we're getting old and intolerable but just wanted the opportunity to provide own respect before the thread moves on further distance / carries it's own intended purpose or relevance.

Ash is a Jags fan. He can take care of himself, no problem whatsoever.
He’ll find Denny, and Nick the wheels off his car, Maryhill style!

We look like we’re re assessing our GK options. Can see two new senior keepers coming in a Slicker off out on loan

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but we’re being linked with Tom Lawrence. Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t he have a successful loan spell with us? Early days and rumours I know.

He was brilliant when he was here on loan, that was a whie back though. Nuts to think he is 30 now! If we were still in the championship I've be happy with that signing but I feel we should try and aim higher now, but I also accept that won't be easy as alot of competition for premier league level players.

I thought we might have gone for him, mainly due to the KM link etc.
Man Utd teenager Forson to join Serie A side Monza:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... xx50vmv8eo
I suspect we may end up with a mix of players:
- Some high fee players, either high profile signings/top young players like Omari etc
- Some mid fee players- likely top championship players looking to step up a league, maybe the odd player from abroad.
- Some free/low cost fee players to help allow the above

I'd be surprised if we are seriously interested in him, I don't see this as better than what we already have.

It’ll be one for the future. Buy him cheap, loan him out etc. No harm in gathering up a few good youngsters as future prospects - even if just for future profit.

Yes, and as previously mentioned, Andy Roberston at Liverpool, …… but they were surrounded by major talent.
Thinking if Ipswich Town FC want to consolidate EPL survival, got to be looking no lower than Championship players.
I mean ……. YES…… go get them, get them out on loan etc etc etc……. But hopefully a first team will come together in the next 5 or 6 weeks. Let Scotland winning the Euros get out the way first.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
If you look at the type of players we’ve acquired since MA/KM were at the helm, none have arguably been super stars and expensive. I know the kitty is deeper now, but I presume there will still be a pragmatic approach for the type of players we invest in.
We’ve got where we are with a TEAM mentality, and I don’t think that will change. I’m not sure we’ll be signing any 15mil players at this time. In my opinion the mantra is strengthening without frivolous spending that may upset the squad’s spirit.
Is that a good thing? Well I’m not sure it will result in a top 6 finish, but it just may guarantee survival.

I don't understand your point, if we sign this guy its like signing a youth player, i.e not a first teamer etc. It won't stop us signing first team player at a level we need.marko69 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:31 pmYes, and as previously mentioned, Andy Roberston at Liverpool, …… but they were surrounded by major talent.

A national leaguge player is never going to command any sort of high fee.

I agree to some extent but suspect we wil have to spent 15m+ on at least 1 player to get the quality we need - the jump is huge, KM has also said that about the step from champ to prem.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:46 pmIf you look at the type of players we’ve acquired since MA/KM were at the helm, none have arguably been super stars and expensive. Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Yeah maybe you’re right. I’d only expect us to invest that amount on a proven striker though, and for me Omari doesn’t fit that mold. He’s not really a striker anyway. I’d prefer to spend on a big lad upfront. Oh dear, didn’t mean to bring up stature again!shabba wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 8:37 pmI agree to some extent but suspect we wil have to spent 15m+ on at least 1 player to get the quality we need - the jump is huge, KM has also said that about the step from champ to prem.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:46 pmIf you look at the type of players we’ve acquired since MA/KM were at the helm, none have arguably been super stars and expensive.
