Oh well, at least I didn't get Scotland.
Strange coming from a NZ Ipswich fan.
Warky in ‘82 not still hurt?

(I bit ….. 🤦‍♂️ )

If you listen to Alan Brazil here for the full 3mins, Mauz, you’ll get a wee laugh. Typical Brazil. And will probably give an insight into why the football is always the SECOND priority in Scotland. 👍👌

Sacre Bleu! .............. sorry just trying to get into character ...............

I remember that Scotland v NZ game like it was yesterday. We were all allowed to start school later to watch it. Hard to believe it was over 40 years ago.

Just thinking, do we have any players in the Euros?

And if not are we the only Premier League club who doesn't?

I'm sure NZ had a certain Alan Boath playing at that time, a former Forfar international, don't say that too often.

Just looking at trying to make it more inclusive for those who have posted in this thread so far, who are not included in the table, namely Rossi, Ricco & Steve.
I had a quick look at when G&B (& All white) [March] and Jimmyt [Nov) last posted and I think it's quite unlikely that we'll see them post in this thread. So perhaps you 3 guys want to step into this, just for fun, knockout.

As a vibrant and active contributor of the forum, shouldn't he at least be offered a team that has a non-zero chance of winning? Such as Georgia.

Noooo! I wouldn't do that. That suggests “rigged” ! You’ll have Number 9 re-registering under a different name Saying , “I KNEW it!”

Anyway, calm……. Italy & chellini won the last one. They never do two tourneys in a row.
Re Georgia & other “suggestions”
……. The Faroe Islands have more chance of bagging a trophy before Scotland…… so i’ll stick with Chellini.
Sorry……… ITALY! Need to stop that.

Being married to a sweaty sock who always has a dose of ABE when it's a major tournament, I am praying we win! Truthfully I'm not execting us to get out of the group and unfortunately I can see Scotland someone managing to so my life will unbearable if that happens! Like others have said on here, the squad is very dodgy and if I hear one more pundit mention the lack of a decent left back who could play I'm going to throw a brick at my telly.......!! If by any miracle we get through to the knock out stages I will support whoever beats us eventually (except Scotland obviously)! Just hope its a good tournament without any trouble.

That should read Anyone But England to anyone who couldn't quite comprehend the short wording in the above.

Can't fault you for it, can only enjoy what remains of a tournament only once (after) they've been eliminated. Not sure of the round format for this year i.e. if there's last 16 stages or straight to last 8 after group games but kind of feeling nervous as the tourney gets nearer. These things used to be enjoyable at one time or another but it's mostly anxiety and sense of foreboding in recent time. Just feel want the damn thing over with here and now.

You got nothing to lose by being there. Few outside the nation will allow them a chance and many Scots maybe doubt their own abilities but choose not to show it. Guess whatever happens over there is a bonus when the time arises. Lose each 3 games, it's to be kind of expected - somehow get out the group and progress, a whole lot of people will be forced to grovel or eat sh*t. The greatest moment/ celebration, could be when or if the English get to another final and lose once again. For Scots, that's got to be the ultimate result, that's where the real celebration's at : maybe far better than any they could achieve in the group stages or competition itself. Without actually winning it outright themselves of course.

Hogmanay in July or something.

Like many on here, I'm not really feeling much interest in Euro 24 at the moment, but then I had a Eureka moment which might just add a little bit of a buzz to this thread! There are 24 teams taking part and I realised coincidentally that our prediction league ended with 24 players! I looked for the FIFA world rankings for each team taking part, they are as follows;
Team FIFA Rank
France 2
Belgium 3
England 4
Portugal 6
Netherlands 7
Spain 8
Italy 9
Croatia 10
Germany 16
Switzerland 19
Denmark 21
Ukraine 22
Austria 25
Hungary 26
Poland 28
Serbia 33
Czech Republic 36
Scotland 39
Turkey 40
Romania 46
Slovakia 48
Slovenia 57
Albania 66
Georgia 75
On that basis the teams would be allocated as follows? I've not fully thought this idea out as to the possible fairness of my system and perhaps someone could come up with a better idea? Position 12 was held by No.9 who is no longer here. There are other players on here who might not take part (All White as an example) who could be replaced by a more regular poster on the forum?
1) Frosty - France
2) Bluemike - Belgium
3) Blue Wilf - England (Bet you're delighted with that?
4) Tangfastic - Portugal
5) Cabanas Blue - Netherlands
6) Mach Polish Blue - Spain
7) Marko69 - Italy
8) Wellywood - Croatia
9) JohnnyB - Germany
10) Dazzz67 - Switzerland
11) Charnwood - Denmark
12) ? - Ukraine
13) Azzuromark - Austria
14) BlueBlood - Hungary
15) Shed on Tour - Poland
16) Shabba - Serbia
17) Mauswara - Czech Republic
18) Arana Peligrosa - Scotland
19) Lucy - Turkey
20) All White - Romania
21) Gold&Black - Slovakia
22) HallamBlue - Slovenia
23) Todd66 - Albania
24) Jimmyt - Georgia

Any thoughts guys as to whether this idea is a runner?

Well JohnnyB you'll be kicking it all off tomorrow night. I think you're on to a good thing here as I can't see beyond Germany winning this in their own backyard.

20:00 hrs at the Fußball Arena München

Germany v Scotland

Best of luck JohnnyB & Arana Peligrosa

As nobody has shown an interest in taking up the teams previously mentioned in earlier posts, other than ITFC2024, I think we should just go with the final prediction league table of 24;

1) Frosty - France
2) Bluemike - Belgium
3) Blue Wilf - England
4) Tangfastic - Portugal
5) Cabanas Blue - Netherlands
6) Mach Polish Blue - Spain
7) Marko69 - Italy
8) Wellywood - Croatia
9) JohnnyB - Germany
10) Dazzz67 - Switzerland
11) Charnwood - Denmark
12) ITFC2024 - Ukraine
13) Azzuromark - Austria
14) BlueBlood - Hungary
15) Shed on Tour - Poland
16) Shabba - Serbia
17) Mauswara - Czech Republic
18) Arana Peligrosa - Scotland
19) Lucy - Turkey
20) All White - Romania
21) Gold&Black - Slovakia
22) HallamBlue - Slovenia
23) Todd66 - Albania
24) Jimmyt - Georgia

Hope Germany win a sense, don't care much for any prediction league. Can't afford a Teutonic elimination in the group stage as they could well face off with the English in the second rounds. Progress and getting out the group is critical for the host nation as is many peoples tolerance.

Scotland were garbage and I certainly won’t be bothering to watch anymore of their game, let’s hope England at least turn up on Sunday. As for the red card tackle by Ryan Porteous that was disgraceful and deserved a double red if ever there was one. A two game ban certainly won’t cause Scotland any problems as he was totally useless and Scotland’s poorest player on the pitch after being tied up in knots by Germany’s attack before his sending off which may have contributed to his horror tackle.

I don't think it's fair to say that Scotland were garbage - they were merely out of their depth and totally outclassed.

If somebody were to have awarded points for each player's performance on a scale of from 1 thru 22, then Scotland would occupy all places from 1 thru 11 and Germany 12 thru 22, simple as that.

Agree with Charnwood and Roy C*nt Keane ——->> scotland were utter garbage. Deer in the headlights scenario. And 100% agree with Graeme Souness. No one can judge Germany at this moment in time ——>>> because Scotland were so garbage. I do have a time-stamped text message to a buddy from last night at 6:30pm in response to him asking me a “score prediction” ——>> 5-0 Germany. The own goal let me down. Useless German b*stard.

But its all about the chat & banter for Scotland. Believe it or not, last night was flippin AWESOME! Saw some pals i’ve not seen for a few years, great laugh, great night out and feeling worse for wear this morning.

We’ll pump Switzerland 3-0.

Still drunk!
