Re: Euro 2024 Thread
We’re also far too sluggish in our passing pace around their box . We’re not pulling them out if position therefore. We don’t actually look very comfortable coming out from the back and not particularly effect in our press.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
Yes! Saka has to do that every time he gets the ball and we need players in the box!!

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
I thought that was a pretty decent first half Liz particularly Saka, Foden and Mainoo. We’re playing far better as a team than we have in previous games, playing much higher up the pitch and pressing like we haven’t done before.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
Oh yes, I think it’s been our best performance so far Andy. But I’m feeling kinda frustrated by the intensity , which feels a bit low to me. Maybe we’re pacing ourselves? I’m not sure Kane is offering much in the box tbh. Would you change anything?

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
If we can keep this going in the second half the chances will come and hopefully one of more goals too.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
Lineker reckons it has been better but then says we have had no shots on target.
Think that corner we had and the ball ended up back with Pickford sums us up perfectly.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
For me focussing on that corner is focussing on the worst England moment of the game rather than looking at the positives and there were quite a few of them even if that didn’t include a shot on target. Unfortunately that’s often the result of playing the modern game and as I recall after 45 mins last night there wasn’t a shot on goal in the game between Portugal and France.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 5:56 pmLineker reckons it has been better but then says we have had no shots on target.Think that corner we had and the ball ended up back with Pickford sums us up perfectly.

Think I’d have Kane off and Palmer on. He’s just doing anything for me I’m afraid
Cue: Kane goal lol

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
We started the second half well but it lasted just 2 minutes, still I expect he will make changes eventually.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
We certainly seem to have lost our shape as bit Liz. It’s always risky taking Kane off as he always has a goal in him even when not playing well. I’d like to see Palmer on but preferably for someone other than Kane.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
The problem is we’re playing as if not conceding is more important than scoring which is always risky.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
lol You can tell Shearer is really frustrated that no subs are being brought on.
Perhaps there will be now since we’re now losing . Absolutely no surprise to me whatsoever but tbh the Swiss have done nothing much in this game.
We’re far too pedestrian!!

Now we are in trouble. At least he will now be forced to make changes eg, Palmer and orToney..

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
We’re not short of decent penalty takers on the pitch. Surely Southgate isn’t looking that far ahead.

Re: Euro 2024 Thread
That’s three QF’s from three all gone to extra time, will it be two from three to penalties.
Just pleased we cancelled going out for dinner tonight. No surprise to me as extra time seemed a quite likely outcome.
Such bad planning as we also have a special night out booked for Wednesday which is at risk if we win this, but I’d still prefer we do.
Come on England
