Omari still being valued at 30-mil by Chelsea. Is it possible we'd splash that much on Hutch? I know we've discussed this ad-nauseum, but I think it is still possible we'd break the bank for him. I am not sure I'd agree with that amount of money, but as Shabba said Omari's value will only increase if he continues to grow under McKenna.

Only a fool would pay 30 Million for Hutchinson, simply won't happen.

20 million plus add ons ..would be as far as where we go ....if he was with any other club. He wouldn't have scored as many ..mckenna brings out the best in players. Unfortunately costing us in the long run.

Agree 20m plus add ons would be good. I have a feeling palace might go for him if they sell Olise.
I read Arsenal have 50 percent sell on clause for Omari - and we know Chelsea always ask top money for their players.

20 million I get although still more than I expected us to pay for any individual, but 30 is Frankly ridiculous.

I don't think palace will go for him..they be looking for replacement that has played and scored in the Premier league or top league elsewhere..they wouldn't take that chance considering they an established club .omari has only 1 Premier appearance and 11 championship goals...we will i feel get him.

Who would they likely get? Which rival is going to sell them a proven premier league player for 30m or less?Denny61 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 3:51 pmI don't think palace will go for him..they be looking for replacement that has played and scored in the Premier league or top league elsewhere..they wouldn't take that chance considering they an established club .omari has only 1 Premier appearance and 11 championship goals...we will i feel get him.

At this rate we’ll do well to bring 5 quality players in which is way short of what the squad needs to compete and would leave us well short of adequate experience. This transfer window isn’t going to be easy.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I see it’s being reported that Coventry have rejected our £10m bid for midfielder Ben Sheaf who was the player I mention in the opening post of this transfer thread. In my opinion he would be an outstanding acquisition at that price. I’m not sure if we’ll try upping our offer or whether Coventry have slammed the door shut.

Apparently we’ve signed a very talented young player from Aston Villa an U21 Abube Onuchukwu
Not sure of his position, but like the Palace youngster will be an upgrade for our U 21 squad which should pay dividends in a couple of seasons time.
Where did you hear about our rebuffed offer to Coventry, Andy?

This seems promising Johnson from West Ham.
The player hasn’t signed the paper work yet but this is expected to happen in the next day or so. Of course he could change his mind last minute but this is thought to be very unlikely.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Possible right side CB on our radar?
Ipswich Town are ’keeping an eye’ on Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, according to the Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old joined the Reds from Bolton Wanderers back in 2016, having gone out on loan to VfB Stuttgart, AFC Bournemouth, Celtic and Cardiff City in the last few years.
He was famously drafted into Jurgen Klopp's back line during a significant injury crisis in the 2020/21 campaign, playing 17 Premier League games while also featuring in the Champions League. He scored his first goal for the club in May 2021 as they beat Burnley 3-0.

The report claims that Town are one of 'several' teams keen on signing him this summer, with former club Cardiff and other Championship sides competing with German teams - including Mainz.
His contract is set to expire next summer, with the Daily Mail adding that Liverpool value him at around £8 million.

Alex's verdict
Ipswich are getting linked with a lot of centre-backs at the moment, and while it's harder than ever to verify what may or may not be genuine, it probably indicates that they are looking to strengthen their back line.
Phillips is a right-footer and spent most of last season playing on the right, partnering Dimitrios Goutas at the back for Cardiff. With Ben Johnson in advanced negotiations to join the Blues, it feels like there's more of a demand for a left-sided defender, such as Hull City's Jacob Greaves.
This morning, The Athletic reported that Town are keen on signing Greaves and Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis, adding that a bid is yet to be submitted for either player.
As for Phillips, his top-flight pedigree will appeal, but he'd face significant competition for minutes ahead of Luke Woolfenden and Axel Tuanzebe. As a result, Liverpool's reported price tag of £8 million feels quite steep - at least given the options at Ipswich’s disposal.
He certainly has the right profile, but whether he's the right player is another question entirely. The number of clubs that he's been linked with in the article certainly raises some eyebrows, too

WHU sources seem to think Johnson’s on his way to us. Bit of a coup tbh as he’s free isn’t he?

Would be sad to see Vaccy Hanky leave. Hope he stays. Even if Ipswich sign a more prolific keeper, he’d be a top back-up.

EADT:
“Ipswich Town are in advanced talks to sign West Ham defender Ben Johnson, the EADT and Ipswich Star understands”.
It’s a bit odd about Vaz… I wonder if his agent has got a bit greedy and the Club won’t be held to ransom?
The keeper is maintaining he doesn’t know why the contract hasn’t been signed and said negotiations have been tougher than they the club we be since Jan…..

I read that he wants a three year contract but Town are offering two, he is 33 I believe so that might be the reason time will tell.

BTW, some of the comments on that Hladky page?
Wow.
I have no idea whatsoever why any player could possibly “gives a fk” about a fanbase.

Ah, thanks for that CB. That might explain things.
I think the Club are far more professional now, and no longer a sift touch when negotiating. Some might say we're too hard nosed, but these players wouldn't think twice at upping boots a clearing off if they got a better offer would they.

Be happy with this, free so just the wages and also gives us options as he is very versitile - we may end up playing a different formation in a few games, City away etc where we could play a back 3 with Davies as LWB and Johnson as LWB, Burges/Axel/Wooflie as 3x CB's. (or other signings of course).

Think this can't be announced until Monday as he is under contract until end June based on other reports but looks very promising.

Yes I'd imagine nothing official until 1st of July. They'll make a video interview etc no doubt too.

If it’s true this would be a very shrewd signing especially given under contract Ben Johnson’s value would be close to £10m.

It can be announced several signings have been made especially from the lower divisions from July 1st but that's not the way Ipswich work, video on Monday I would imagine.Dubai Blue wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 2:26 pmThink this can't be announced until Monday as he is under contract until end June based on other reports but looks very promising.
