Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
One thing for sure our current squad as it stands won’t be able to compete in the EPL and still needs significant strengthening, in particular GK, another LB, CM, AMC and ST and that’s an absolute minimum.
TOWN SQUAD AS IT STANDS
GK: Walton, Slicker
RB: Johnson, Clarke
CB: Woolfenden, Burgess, Tuanzebe, Edmundson, Baggott, Ndaba
LB: Davis
CM: Morsy, Luongo, Taylor, Humphreys, El Mizouni
RW: Hutchinson, Burns
AMC: Chaplin
LW: Broadhead, Harness
ST: Hirst, Al-Hamadi, Ladapo

Considering his options, a good thing to do when looking for a new job. No negotiations or talks as yet, if ever.

Early days still Charnwood, and it’s worked well that the fringe players have left and now we can bring in starters and move some previous starters to the squad player role.
Signings will take time - especially now we have such strong competition.

Can he take a throw in? A long one that 9 times out of 10 does not come to anything at all?hallamblue wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 7:16 pm

I know it’s early days and the only reason for my post is to catch the “where we are now” in one place which makes it easier to capture the weak spots.

This Journalist seems to think we've pretty much got the Hull pair after overnight progress

The way the days are passing by, (quickly) 17th August is not far away, at all. A few big confirmed signatures would be decent so the team and King Kieron McK can start the "G" wording process in pre-C training.
Come on, Mashton. Let's get them in the door.

If we pull this one off it would be a major coup. Much better buying young talent who McKenna is confident can step up rather than buying a player with EPL experience a club is happy to offload as there will inevitably be a reason for that.Bluemike wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 12:21 pmhttps://www.footballinsider247.com/ipsw ... d-sources/

Experienced EPL players that clubs want to keep are simply out of our price range at this stage.

Seems to be taking a helluva long time to Greaves signed up. He had his medical 3 days ago didn’t he?

Yeah I suspect they like to get everything done, medical, terms - all the paperwork - but then also do photos, an interview video and get that all ready, edited etc.
A lot to do.

Seems to be edging ever closer

Saw elsewhere (two different sources) saying
" Ipswich are now confident of securing both Hull players"

Even Hull's owner is pretty much saying the pair are coming to Ipswich so it's looking very positive now.

Think his agent has been trying to get Everton to come in for him and it looks like he might have got his wish. Tbh not that bothered, if he really wants to come here great but if there is any doubt in his mind about joining us then he can go elsewhere. As I said previously I feel that it is more important to get the Greaves deal signed and dusted.

Not to tempt fate but I think Greaves is a done deal.
