Maybe I’m too early to judge. I just recall seeing him on match the day last season and he looked so bad.

Makes you wonder what we'll get for Harness and Edmundson, also if Ahadme is worth a million so must Ladapo be.

According to Nixon we wanted Rushworth but Brighton only wanted a loan and Town wanted a permanent deal, Brighton think he could be an English international in time.

Oh that’s Brighton bring salty after failing to secure McKenna and fearing we may actually be a threat to them in the PL mini league.

Brighton are so successful in their recruitment that they don’t have to sell players to survive and can hold out for their full valuation. All credit to them and hopefully we can follow suit although so far we don’t seem to be particularly successful buying cheaply.

One of the strong points they also have is the sister club abroad. Bring in a player from outside Europe and loan to the Belgium club, get them settled in Europe etc and then do an English loan / bring them to Brighton

So hardly Brighton bring astute finding players but more a case of needing to act in tandem with another club to complete in the PL becysse they can’t do it on their own.

No it’s brilliant work. They are using the sister club like a feeder club. A few teams are doing it and with good success now.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:34 pmSo hardly Brighton bring astute finding players but more a case of needing to act in tandem with another club to complete in the PL becysse they can’t do it on their own.
Brighton have done insanely well to get from where they were to where they are. Fair play to them for sure. M the fact they have so many players they can sell and replace without dropping down is a huge achievement.

I just used to play loads of football manager on the PC and admire the way they have taken a small club up etc.
It’s nice when you can like other teams based on certain factors and then ditch then if it changes

You can’t really do that with your own club haha.

I see former keeper Vaclav Hladky is reported to have rejected the chance to join Banik Ostrava back in his home country Czech Republic. I must say I’m surprised another Championship club hasn’t come in for him given the fabulous season he had last year. Maybe some clubs are put off by his 57 league goals conceded but clearly they have no idea what the defence was like in front of him.

But maybe more acceptable if it comes with a promise of first team football and not bench warming.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 2:44 pmhttps://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-new ... rnley-deal

Downes re joining Saints on a permanent desk. Apparently we made a big play for him ( Phil Ham), but he was either staying at WHU or going to Saints. So that’s the end of that finally.

Yep and based on what I saw close up at the end of the Huddersfield game he seems a genuinely decent guyCabanas Blue wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 5:42 pmI wish him well, we might not be where we are without him last season.
