Best player so far?

Post by chris » Mon Sep 27, 2004 10:46 pm

Who do reckon has been our best player so far this season?

I've gone for DeVos (no shadow jokes)

The reason I started it was because I couldn't really think of any players standing out this season so far. Bent has looked good, as has Naylor, Diallo, De Vos, Horlock and Kelvin but they've also made some mistakes. Both of De Vos' goals have been crucial and his defence has been the most solid of any of our players so I went for him.

Another central defender that weve been missing.
Now find someone that can play along side him!!

Ive gone for 'the kelvinator'
The amount of times he's saved us from going 2-3 goals down in a game. The man is a class act!

I voted for Bent. He's been scoring and providing 4 others this season.
Long may it continue in an ITFC shirt.

Ive gone for bent as he has been sticking them in , and setting them up all season!

Closely followed by Jos De Vos ( as radio plymouth would say ) and Kevin Horlock and kelvin Davis , they have all been great in a dodgy defence !!

Kelvin without doubt.

To early to judge Kuqi, De Vos, Horlock... I want good full seasons out of them.

No doubt for me that Horlock has been key. Backbone has emerged as an operational piece of our anatomy (most of the time) and this has been missing for a few years now.

However most of the other names on your list have been pretty valuable contributors too. I think my list would not yet include Naylor or Diallo though. Maybe if they continue to improve it would after 20 games.

Would be cool to compare the results of this survey with the same one after 20 games then 30 &c and then with the fans player of the year award.

I say Davis, as i have only seen the horlock and de vos once. So im going Davis as he was brill last season, and sounds like the same this one.

I say Horlock, Does all the dirty work and protects the defence well.

Funny how 25 of the 35 votes so far (including Horlock as a "defensive" midfielder) have voted for a defensive player, yet we have conceded a shitload of goals again this season..... wierd eh?

Prolly because we do look better at the back compared to last season.
