what happened back in the early 80's???? when we built the pioneer stand and got into debt cos of that??? cos seeing both the north and south stands developed looks to have put us in the sh*t?? or is it cos of the expensive flops like sereni, george and co, or the mismanagement of player sales i.e. paying 4 million odd each for sereni and heridarrson and releasing sereni and letting herman go for a bargain 800k???

not if you believe what Sheepy said in the press the other night. The Club apparently can prove that by increasing the size of the NS that it has since generated a further £1.4 odd million in revenue (due to its capablity to have increased gate receipts which were based apparently on less than the current 25, 000 average Town are getting).
I remembering talking to Bowden in the legends bar before a match last season...and he said that if Town got promoted, they planned to rip out the boxes in the Cobbold Stand and put more seats in cos they had costed it up to be an extra £1m revenue per match !
Not bad eh...except we didnt get promoted !

Surely it would be an extra million over a season NOT per match!crazee wrote:how many more seats? for it to be a million pounds a match it must be loads
those boxes are hardly cheap and surly having less boxes would affect commerical income because businesses use those for entertaining clients ETC
1000 more seats at £27 over 38 Premiership matches = £1,026,000.
In order to generate an extra million per match we would have to DOUBLE the capacity of the ground!!
