Whadja expect when you play Sam 'I'm not a target man' Parkin upfront on his own and leave out a player with a point to prove.

Forster on for Parkin
Wilnis on for Horlock

4-4-2 now. Naylor is up front. Wilnis and De Vos at back

If we loose this one, you got to blame joe for it, what a crap line up! I though he said he was going to make a game of it and attack reading!

I was just gonna say this sounds like sh*t, I slept in for the 1st half this match, think i should have stayed in bed, r we even half competing with Reading. Is it that were that bad or r they just that good cause we sounded good on saturday.

Well Reading are one of the best teams in this league!but i thought with our home advantage we would do better, just hope we don`t do another Preston.

hmm wot to say
1st hearing the lineup you know we would have problems.
from the off they were all over us and outplayed us. they deservidly won. ipswich playin hoof ball also didn't help.
ipswich were 2nd to none , didn't show up and to me no1 really stood out, in a dire person there is usually at least one person.
no positive points to take , our 1st shot on target was the 67th minute.
joe says top 6, we're mid table this year sadly.

Inmy considered opinion, we were PATHETIC

And NO Reading were not good, we made them look good
a half decent Ipswich team would have held a draw against them.

4-5-1 makes no sense, Parkin as a lone striker, who hasn't scored a goal. At home we should be more adventurous, we showed Reading way too much respect from the start and it resulted in a pathetic performances, no attempt to get the ball down and play football, and on a cold November night you really do wonder why you bother with it at all.

Until today I've always been of the attitude "he's the manager, he knows best" when pondering slightly dubious team selections by Royle, but after today....

Who on earth in their right mind would play Sam "ball to my feet please" Parkin as a lone striker? It's pretty obvious that's never going to work.

I can almost see the logic behind 5 across the middle, but that choice of striker  IMO we looked better after reverting to 4-4-2 but still woefully inadequate. Reading didn't WIN by playing particularly well, we LOST it by playing terribly!
