Joe Royle is flying to Holland to watch a reserve team game between Ajax and Twente Enschede tonight with players available from both clubs in January.
Town's chief scout Colin Suggett has also made the trip as Blues search at home and abroad for first-team additions.
"We will have triallists with us over the next few weeks and with the January transfer window just around the corner, we're looking at bringing in new players," says Town boss Joe.
"With Sam Parkin injured and out for three to four months and Jay McEveley back at Blackburn after his knee injury, we have to make a striker and a left-back our priority positions now."
