To play at the new wembley stadium on the 30th May. That's if it is completed on time of course!

So much for the 'prestigious' friendly for the first game then...

Why not play a Rest of the World team?

Wouldn't it be fantastic to see England vs Ronaldinho, Henry, Shevchenko, Nedved, Zidane, Riqeulme (or however you spell that Argentinian blokes name) etc.

Or even if you couldn't get the big names from Serie A and the Primera Liga then play a RotW team made up from the Premiership.

Cech

Carvahlo
Heinz
Hyppia
Staltieri

Pires
Okocha
Essien
Duff

Henry
Van Nistlerooy

Just off the top of my head.

Which match would you rather watch?

As you say on paper not the most attractive opponents.
I suppose as the first full international to be played at the new stadium falls so close to the World Cup then it was always going to be difficult to arrange a high profile fixture. Personally I would have loved us to play Scotland but this was never going to be on and to be fair probably would not have been ideal preparation for the World Cup.
I guess they went for Hungary as they are not involved in Germany and also they were the first team to beat England on home soil.

It's all about the history people. The tonking they handed out, first non home nation to beat us on home soil. It'll sell out anyway, except of course it won;t go ahead because the stadium isn't going to be ready :(

Right Choice I think.

At least Hungary got a historic win at wembley and as their national team is stumblin`since years now, it is a nice idea of the english Fa to invite them.
