MERRY CHRISTMAS TRACTOR BOYS

From us all here in Duesseldorf.

Christmas is a bit different here in Germany, as Christmas Eve is the Start and the most important Day for all the children here, because they are getting all their presents layed out from the Christmas-Child under the Christmas tree tonighte and they are allowed to open the parcels and play with their new toys today already.

Tomorrow and Boxing day are similar to Christmas in England, as there is lots of Food and a few Pints with family and friends, unfortunately, we do not have the big sports day at boxing day, as yee have it traditionally in England.

About thirty years ago, when we where members of the german bundesliga, we had to play a previously postponed match vs our old Rivals Schalke 04 in our old Rhine-Stadium at boxing day and the club officials thought, there would be not more than about 20.000 supporters attending that match and therefore printed out only a limited number of tickets.

Finally, this match drew more than 40.000 Spectators.

FROHE WEIHNACHTEN allen IPSWICH TOWN ANHÄNGERN wünscht

Seasons Greetings to you and yours from the UK.

Spent one Christmas in Germany in recent years and it was a wonderful time, snowing on Christmas Day (just the way it should be), plus all those wonderful Christmas Markets. :D

Must do it again some day.

There is actually something worse than Jägermeister ;-)

wich is called KILLEPITSCH, and there is a pub in the Altstadt, just right across "der Uerige" where they make it.

Whe you go to the Altstadt, ask for it ;-) but, be careful, that stuff makes you crayzy ;-)

LOL Yes I know I have had it I call it 'KILL THE BITCH''

We often go to places like Louisianna's or Poco Loco, but would
appreciate it if you could let us know what other good pubs / clubs
there are..

Hi Earl, depends, what you want to see, or to get, with the Poco Loco, you know an Insider Place,

My favourite Pubs are :

The Uerige - traditional Beerhouse

Bitburger am Schlossturm, quite place to relaxe where you get an excellent pils

Fatty - Suttons Irish Pub (I usesd to worke for him)

Sutton Arms -Right beside the Irish Pub with in the past a bit more of english influence)

McLoughlin`s Irish Pub, where you meet all the lads from USA, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, Newsealand if you feel homesick,

If you want to eat, I would recommend one of the spanish restaurants at Schneider Wibbel Gasse.

And the Tractor Boys are linked now on ...

Cheers for the information. I will keep hold of this..

Found 1 or 2 Irish bars over the years I have been visiting the
area, but did not reallytake much notice of the name.

Thanks

..
i think world bowl is on May, the 27th... the same day there is Fortuna's last league home-match against Holstein Kiel at Flinger Broich (kickoff 14:00 o'clock). if the world bowl starts in the evening you can probably visit the soccer-match too !
