A number of national newspapers are reporting that Town are set to make a move for Colchester United boss Phil Parkinson with Joe Royle moving into a director of football role.
Parkinson has long been thought of as a potential successor to Joe Royle having done well in his near three-year spell as manager at Layer Road. However, with chairman David Sheepshanks only today urging fans to "get behind Joe Royle" ahead of Saturday's game with Luton, an imminent managerial change looks unlikely.
