Midfield options
We have all of a sudden a massive selection for midfield now
Currie
Juan
Williams
Westlake
Garvan
Richards
Magilton
Horlock
McDonald
Peters
This is quite comical to be honest
It only came to my attention the actual size of our squad now when I was on the BBC squad selector thingybob

I dont htink it is ...I see it as our "transitional period"..out with the old ?(over a given time)...and in with "new "....Skard, Williams, Garvan, Westy, Richards, Juan - looking good to me !!Ojc wrote:This is ridiculous.squiz18 wrote:Dont Forget skaard as well !
If we get another striker and another defender then Joe has no excuses as to the size of our squad, its mahhhosive now, much bigger than last year.

Re: Midfield options
Juan, Westlake and Richards are automatic starts for me at this point. So that leaves a choice between Currie, Williams, Magilton and Garvan for the final place. I'd still be inclined to lean towards Currie, he's had a rotten few games recently, but he is one of our most creative player and just needs to get his as* in gear.Ojc wrote:We have all of a sudden a massive selection for midfield now

its a tough one with currie, for 85 minutes the team is carrying him , but for the 5 minutes he creates alot of chances !

what would you rather have ...a player that runs around flying in with the tackles ..but then doing nothing with it ...or, "carry" a player that , IF you can give him the ball (having won it via another player who's role it is , is to win the ball)...and watch Currie pitch a defence splitting pass which results in a goal . He only need do this for you a couple of times in a match to win you the game !
If Currie didnt continue to provide these "assists" - then fair enough ditch him...but while he continues to come up with the goods - keep him in the side I say !
The sooner we get a seasoned striker or a good old fashioned goal poacher in the side that is going to regularly get on the end of Curries passess the better !

Its funny really, one minute we have a tiny squad, then the next minute you look at the Midfielders we have, and suddenly we have a big squad. However as pointed out it isnt about the size, we still have a very average team. But i suppose its good we have the depth, due to all the injury problems we have seemed to get this season.
