whatever it is, at least we have actually signed someone
He hasn't signed yet! says on official site it probably won't go through until next week.
ahhh, and with BFJ's transfer dealings that probably means he'll join someone else lol
why did the club make it public? im sure other clubs would be interested....wouldnt be because of dissapointing ticket sales for tomorrow would it? lol

Why do Ipswich always do this.
I mean if we are gonna go after a player, lets tell
all the other teams about it.
Anyway the Cardiff fans dont seem to either know or
be excited about it as there is nothing on their rivals site
about it.
What are peoples opinions of Lee.
He has sat out most of the season on the bench??

i think he is the 'Target man' BFJ has been looking for since Kuqi left, now, that could be a good thing and a bad thing, the game at stoke where the ball was played on the deck and we looked very good is what we should be trying to do every week, but with a 'target man' in the team we can almost say goodbye to any balls being played on the deckEarl Blue wrote:Why do Ipswich always do this.

but if im honest i think he could be a good addition to the squad, although it might stop a couple of youngsters coming through

How long does he need? Sorry but Parkin was a duff buy and giving the lad a 4 year contract was a even bigger mistake.squiz18 wrote:Parkin is still our top fooking goal scorer. Give the guy a break.ITFC10 wrote:He will be another Sam Parkin
Proudlock looked more effective than Parkin has in the small amount of games he has played.

well considering hes been out ages injured id say he needs a lot longer, dont forget that the ball has just been lumped up to him, anyone who has seen him play before will tell u he can hold the ball up well when its played into his feet, and is a very good finisher given half a chance, also dont forget he has stepped up a league, and is still finding his feet, he cant be that bad when u look at some of the clubs he turned down to join usOjc wrote:How long does he need? exactly we had 2 chances against leeds and parkin scored both of them. Hoofing the ball to him was what we were doing to him and thats exactly what he said he didnt want. He broke his ankle jumping for high balls. I think when he comes back with the midfield we have now compared to august (when most people got pissed off with him) he will be banging them in.

Gotta agree with Squiz here!!!squiz18 wrote:exactly we had 2 chances against leeds and parkin scored both of them. Also I believe the whole side was playing pretty poorly when he was fit - just seemed he copped most of the flack as he was the only big money signing we had made for a while. He came here expected to fill the boots of both Kuqi and Bent - he does have 5 goals to his name so far and that was in a side which WEREN'T creating chances.
There was alot of interest in the lad and he is only 24 - I think the extra competition will help everyone and if we play football to suit his game I am sure we will see a much better player. In all honesty how can we judge him until that has happened!!

Ipswich manager Joe Royle is hoping to complete the signing of 27-year-old Cardiff City striker Alan Lee early next week.
Town are expecting to pay a transfer fee in the region of £150,000 for the former Rotherham frontman.
Blues chairman David Sheepshanks is in talks with his Cardiff counterpart Sam Hamman, and Royle said: "Alan is a not shy of hard work and will give us height up front to compliment Nicky Forster and work with Sam Parkin.
"We talked about him in the summer, but money was unavailable at that time once we signed Sam. I first spotted Alan playing for Burnley."
Lee is one of the international strikers Royle has been talking about for a week or so. He has played for the Republic of Ireland.
But hopes of bringing in Southampton's Ricardo Fuller have ended with the Jamaican international staying with the Saints and hoping to gain a regular place

I hope if he does sign, the fans give him a fair go. Just because it has not worked out for him at Cardiff does mean he will be a flop here. Some moves in football just don't work out for whatever reason - does not mean he is a bad player.
Rotherham fan I spoke described his as a "100% player" - we could certainly use one of them!
I would love to see someone with a physical presence (a bit like Naylor second half against Pompey). I am not suggesting we hoof it btw - just someone to give us some options, get on the end of a cross, hold the ball up and (please god!) maybe actually be able to stick it in the net.

firstly he hasn't signed yet and if he does we can't judge him before he has kicked a ball for us,after watching todays game its clear that we need a striker.Jus wrote:Can't get in the Cardff team, all the Cardiff fans I know reckon hes a donkey, having seen him I agree, another sh*t striker to add to the load we already have.
we have forster, whom i like,BUT.....he's never fit, parkin who looks out his depth in my opinion, haynes who still has alot to learn, but do like.
we aint got 5m to spend on anyone,so lets give the bloke a chance if he signs.
it aint like we are after heskey is it,lol
