Yesterday... (Fao ATB)

When I was watching yesterday's game I was reminded of a post by ATB with the idea that Ipswich take (my local boy) Archie Thompson on loan for the rest of this season.

It got me thinking what it could have been like if Archie was playing instead of Haynes (but don't get me wrong, Haynes was great, but Archie's a devestating finisher).

I was just wondering if you ever did email the club with that idea, ATB? He could be another of those mystery "International Strikers" we keep hearing about...

Well, I could hope anyway...

Hey Victa

I never did email the club.. but even if i had i don't think it would've helped.. it looks like Gus Hiddink is about to sign him at PSV!!

that'd be a good move for the lad if he got game time

That'd be a fantastic move for him, I think it's a good indication of what a top player he is if he can impress a quality manager like Guus. Obviously I'm a bit 'out to lunch' on the news back home, where'd you come up with this little nugget of information?

Ernie Merrick needs a good kick up the arse.

Is it true there's a petition to sack Pierre Littbarski even though he's got Sydney in second? Like I said, I've got no access to home news over here in Reading.

I haven't come across any petition.. there's been rumours that people have been unhappy with him but it's all hogwash...

Sydney are trying to sign him up to a longer term contract
