I was thinking yesterday with the likes of Fuller rejecting moving to Town and previously Kachloul doing the same. what has happened to the status of ITFC.?
There was a time that whenever Ipswich called a player, it wasn't long before they signed on the dotted line. they all said that the Club was first rate on and off the pitch.
has there been any other players in the past who have rejected a move to Ipswich?
i did offer this question up yesterday at the p & j but we have only come up with the above.

The thing is back in the day Town were a big side, now we're not and we will struggle to sign players.
Would you really want to join Ipswich the way things are at the moment? I know I wouldn't

I fear you are right Gaz, but maybe we should consider giving our own youngsters a go where possible, rather than journeyman pros who will "settle" for the current Ipswich set up?

If it makes you feel any better Jermaine Wight chose us over Forest, doubt that will though.

well my immediate response is ....who the F*** was Kachloul anyway ???...where exactly did his silky !! talents end up (Villa) ..and it was all down to MONEY - Town were not prepared to be held to ransom regarding his wage demands - Villa were ..and the player then spent most of his time in their reserves if memory serves me right - such was his skill level and ability!! no loss for Town there then !
I dont think anything has happend to Town's "status" ....only Club's willingness to be held to ransom over silly wage demands....players will go to
anyone willing to pay them daft money(although thankfully this practice and balance of power has changed more recently, such ids the state of our game today). There is minimal loyalty in the game - so lets not kid ourselves here.

My memory may be failing me but I thought GABRIEL BATISTUTA turned us down when he heard more about where the place was! That's not a joke. Anyone else remember reading that in the papers quite a few years ago, while in the premier league?
