Aidan collins -> wycombe.....

Post by nieros » Thu Jan 12, 2006 9:58 am

Ipswich's teenage defender Aidan Collins is set for a spell with League Two leaders Wycombe.

The 19-year-old is to train with John Gorman's side with a view to a permanent deal at the Causeway Stadium.

Collins has been told his contract will not be renewed in the summer and is free to join another club.

"Wycombe have been in touch and Aidan is going down there to have a look around the place and train with them," boss Joe Royle told Ipswich's website.

Good luck to him, and good luck to any player that has
to leave ITFC o persue their careers.

It is unfortunate that certain restrictions at ITFC have put
the club in a position whereby contracts cannot be offered to
any possible/potential future stars.

My sentiments exactly. I don't blame JR for having to be ruthless. I think deep down there has probably been a few players he might have liked to have given another year to in order to see if they can step it up a gear. However he is in a position where he can only justify a squad of players who are pushing hard for a first team place!!!

So good luck to any lads which have to move on - hopefully they will make the grade somewhere which will still reflect well on us as a club. Being able to produce professional standard players isn't an easy thing to do regardless of the level - so if we continue to produce such talent it will make us an attractive outlet for any youngster wanting to make a name for themselves in the game. :D
