Craig move confirmed

Post by jjlj_itfc4eva » Thu Jan 12, 2006 12:05 pm

Falkirk head coach John Hughes has confirmed that Town midfielder Liam Craig will sign for the Bairns until the end of the season. TWTD reported on Monday that last season's FA Youth Cup-winning captain was set for a move to the SPL side.Hughes says the move to Falkirk will give the 19-year-old a chance to make his mark: "Liam is a young player who is hungry to establish himself.

"We will give him the platform, but it is up to him to come here and work hard at it.

"He is very versatile, playing anywhere on the left hand side, and he should be included in the squad for this weekend's game against Dundee United."

Craig is set to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper. The former Hearts schoolboy was told at the end of last week that he, along with Kevin Horlock, Aidan Collins and Cathal Lordan, would not be kept on at the end of the season.

Town boss Joe Royle says he has received no further interest in his players and contrary to repeated newspaper speculation has not had any enquiries regarding the availability of Dean Bowditch.

I think Deano could find himself on the footy scrap heap if he doesn't pull his head out of his arse sooner or later!!

Whilst he might walk round with a swagger thinking the world owes him a favour because he is a footballer the guy needs to actually start producing the goods!!!

I have been a fan of his - but if he had the talent and attitude needed for the top flight then he would have filled the void we have had up front this season. He would have produced the sort of match winning performances he is more than capable of.

While he might have thought he was the man with West Ham showing interest he needs to be the man on the pitch - this is the only place to prove your worth to anyone and an in-form bowdtich would have been such an asset so far this season!!

I think Bowditch is suffering from West Hams success this season. They board are backing Pardew with big money, and whilst if they'd been at the bottom of the table, he'd have been looking for cheap potential youngsters from the Championship, instead he's able to bring in some experience.

That and of course, Bowditch has just looked complete bobbins all season, and most sensible people (the north stand at portman road aside) have to come to recognise he's little more than hype and bad attitude.
