Town hold independent review

Post by Bluebird » Mon Jan 16, 2006 9:34 am

Ipswich Town Football Club has asked an independent auditor and former senior partner of KPMG, Nigel Smith, to conduct an internal review of the Club's controls relating to the vetting of any potential significant investors.

Town's Chief Executive Derek Bowden said:" Nigel Smith oversees the Club's 'Risk Register', which covers many aspects of the business and clearly, with lessons learned from this recent episode, it is prudent to ensure that our checking process is sound."
Absolutely priceless

An admission perhaps, that whilst some of these people are
business orientated they have not got a clue as to how
to run certain things in a football club..

??

To be honest Earl, alot of this stuff is basic common sense, and good practices that you should find in any business.

Totally agree,

Its like an accountant doing your books who does
not understand the scale of charges in VAT. If he does
it wrong you end up in the sh*t..

A lot of what I have felt has happened at ITFC over
the last couple of years is down to uncontrolable excitement
in believing our whole mess will disappear overnight, which of
course it will not..
