Garven and Juan!!!
Gotta be honest from what I saw of these two players on saturday I was pleased and excited about our future!!!
Juan's free kick apart both of them didn't do anything spectacular but both got through alot of hard work and kept the midfield ticking!!!!
I noticed for the first time in a long time we had 2 players who were filling in at the back and covering their colleagues. I noticed during the game that young Barron was caught in posession in the attacking half - although nothing happened with him out of position - big Juan had slotted into LB to cover him!!!
This is the kind of thing which makes a team successful - they are in essence the engine room of the side and if can tie Juan to a longer deal it would bode well for the future of this club - so much so that I think the team should be built around the pair!!!

I said a while ago Mole ...that when we have all these players fit we would have a cracking young team in the making here - add Skard to this mix too...and its a mouth watering prospect for the next couple of seasons IMHO
We will soon be back to the "Ipswich way" of playing good football - and i honestly think over the next two seasons promotion is a very real possiblity !
thats not to say we will be "good enough" in the Prem , but I like to think we will be good enough to get promoted !

[quote="Dubai Blue"]Not sure if Westlake would beat Richards to that left MF position in my starting 11 right now.
Good that we don't necessarily agree though eh.

Good that JR has this dilemma at last...the midfield is energetic compared with a few months back....as for Juan he did sound like he was the business and had potential - put yourself in his shoes - hell of a culture shock with this leagues physical nature / language barrier...nice to see him coming along....just hope its not to Monaco's sole benefit....how long is he contracted with them?

Agree totally - would hate to see him playing for them next season when we have the huge potential for a great midfield pairing for years at the club in Garven and Juan. This should be the back bone the side is built around IMO!!!

to be honest i wouldnt go getting to carried away with this new midfield partnership talk, even if juan does stay BFJ will probably flog Garvan for peanuts next season
Ever the optimist are you not LOL!!!
I ain't getting carried away - seen enough sh1t the past few years to know when to get carried away and when not too. However in an ideal world I would love to see us developing these guys and building a side around them which in time could dominate this division and possibly hold their own in the prem - possibly??
