looking better? enough to renew your season ticket?
Personally,at this very moment in time,i would renew.....I'm excited at the prospect of seeing a confident Parkin and ever improving youngsters like Barron,Supple,Garvan, Our ambition this season must be to finnish strong and above the budgies
If we can achieve this,I believe we will be ready to bounce back with venom. In conclusion,I would also like to see Bam Bam made up to skipper next season.See ya awl at Southampton!

Well I won't be purely on the premise that I am now paying a mortgage and also for the fact that I like to go and watch my brother in law as much as possible.
I should still get to at least 10 games per season, and it doesn't matter who the opposition is either, it is just a case of what I can afford and what suits my schedule.

i have no problem with fans like you mate, your situation is that it would be next to impossible to get to all home games, therefore buying a season ticket would be a waste of money, but for fans that live in ips who can afford to go,but won't because we are not playing premier football or playing quote well enough unquote,i think just shows that they can't be true blues......and i know i will get slated for it but don't careRiviera wrote:wish i could be in a position to get a season ticket, but as much as i love the Blues theres no way i could leave Torquay, not until the kids have grown up anyway
i'll just keep plodding along, popping up every now and again, and maybe the odd away game

i shouldnt worry about that, ive had this argument many times, ive been to Portman Road with only 12,000 there, that was back in the days when getting a ticket was no problem, home or away, the season we got to the play off final i did loads of games, home and away, but because i couldnt get to PR to queue for a ticket i had to buy 2 from a toutjohn_ipsw2 wrote:i have no problem with fans like you mate, your situation is that it would be next to impossible to get to all home games, therefore buying a season ticket would be a waste of money, but for fans that live in ips who can afford to go,but won't because we are not playing premier football or playing quote well enough unquote,i think just shows that they can't be true blues......and i know i will get slated for it but don't careRiviera wrote:wish i could be in a position to get a season ticket, but as much as i love the Blues theres no way i could leave Torquay, not until the kids have grown up anyway

I think that is unfair chap and I guess I might have to slate you for it hehejohn_ipsw2 wrote:i have no problem with fans like you mate, your situation is that it would be next to impossible to get to all home games, therefore buying a season ticket would be a waste of money, but for fans that live in ips who can afford to go,but won't because we are not playing premier football or playing quote well enough unquote,i think just shows that they can't be true blues......and i know i will get slated for it but don't careRiviera wrote:wish i could be in a position to get a season ticket, but as much as i love the Blues theres no way i could leave Torquay, not until the kids have grown up anyway

I guess in reality I could afford to go to portman road and purchase myself a season ticket. But that would mean not having a holiday, not enjoying as many other things in life.
I am true blue, I would never support any other club - except the club my brother in law plays for (family doesn't count). So because I could afford it but choose not too that makes me a bad fan???
I have been to portman road for the past 15 years (since coming back from australia) whilst I will always support the team I know there are MORE IMPORTANT things in life. At the end of the day things have happened which have left a sour taste in my mouth and for me I want to be entertained.
ITFC have done me and my family no favours at all and as such if I choose to be selective I bloody will be. It does wind me up when so called fans call themselves true blue because they have nothing better in their lives than to call themselves REAL FANS - because they would go without food in order to support the team.
I was at the anglo-italian cup games when we struggled to get 10,000 fans in. The first season after relegation from the premiership back in 1996 time. I had followed the team through thick and thin in recent years but right now I would rather see my HARD EARNED MONEY spent on things I can enjoy and appreciate. If that makes me a fair weather fan - then so be it chap - if you class yourselves as real fans because we make a choice and you don't then that is your perrogative!!

spot on, its £80 from here, its hard to jusitfy £80 plus £25 match ticket, just for a game of football, and thats without beer moneyOjc wrote:If I lived in Ipswich you can be assured I would be a season ticket holder, I have thought about getting one and its not the price of the season ticket that puts me off, its the price of commuting back and forward to Ipswich which is the killer.

remember 6,000 in the anglo italian cup against port vale.the-mole wrote:I think that is unfair chap and I guess I might have to slate you for it hehejohn_ipsw2 wrote:i have no problem with fans like you mate, your situation is that it would be next to impossible to get to all home games, therefore buying a season ticket would be a waste of money, but for fans that live in ips who can afford to go,but won't because we are not playing premier football or playing quote well enough unquote,i think just shows that they can't be true blues......and i know i will get slated for it but don't careRiviera wrote:wish i could be in a position to get a season ticket, but as much as i love the Blues theres no way i could leave Torquay, not until the kids have grown up anyway

knew i'd take stick

it is your perrogative and your argument is valid, but i don't go without food etc to go,i go because i enjoy football and love ips...like you.
believe me i understand how expensive football is though and the simple fact is we as fans in general are being pushed out or priced out the game by fat cats wanting nothing more than to line their pockets.
i'm not going to win this argument,i know that...i've been a season ticket holder now for 8 years, prior to that i payed at the turnstile when i could afford to go,alot of my mates would only go to watch us when we went up and this is my argument.....not once did they bother to go when we was in d1.

I don't think it is a winnable arguement from any angle chap hehe!!! For me the love and passion associated with football has fallen away. I will also support ITFC - my dad is fan and as such I became a fan. I am proud to come from this town and it is nice to be associated with this club. Yes I do remember the 6000 anglo italian game - for me at this time in my life I can't jusifty spending money on a season ticket purely because I am a fan.
No doubt at somepoint in my life times will change and I will be happy to pay for it every season. Football in this country is being priced beyond the fans the game is meant to be for. All clubs would rather invite in corporate clients than your "hard-core" so to speak. They want to be associated with the rich and successful as opposed to the hard working.
A few things together over the past few years have contributed to my decision - I always want to see the club do well regardless of who is in charge on and off the pitch - but for me I don't feel the need to invest money at this time.
Being in the premiership wouldn't make a difference - just watching a team who work hard and play with passion might be enough to tempt me back. If football would rather have the corporate fan that is fine with me - I can do my voting with the feet hehe.

i know you wasn't really having a dig mate and reading your side of things has made me feel a bit stupid as it seems i'm coming across as some sort of better than you fan, which couldn't be further from the truth,the-mole wrote:I don't think it is a winnable arguement from any angle chap hehe!!!
