Latics Horlock Bid Fails

Post by Dazza » Fri Jan 27, 2006 7:31 am

Oldham Athletic have given up on their attempt to sign Town midfielder Kevin Horlock. The 33-year-old has been told he has no future at Portman Road when his contract ends in June.

Latics boss Ronnie Moore said: "We looked into signing Horlock, but he was just out of our price range. But that is the sort of player we are looking to bring in."

Championship side Millwall have also been linked with the former Swindon, Manchester City and West Ham man.

I guess whilst he is still being considered by other clubs, he is
holding out for the best offer. I think he should not dwell on
any offers that may come in for him thou..

Problem is say for arguements sake he is currently earning £6k per week - oldham might offer him £2k per week. Whilst he will get first team footy - he will be losing out on 4 months worth of better pay.

From his point of view unless someone can match or get close to his wages it is in his best interests to stay here until the summer. Whilst it would be better for us to get shot you can't blame him for looking after his own financial interests!!
