Death in the Cobbold?

No, i'm not talking about the non existant singing but a guy in the upper Cobbold near the North Stand.

From what I could see he had a heart attack and paramedics were trying to revive him, it was just before the players ran out.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I saw the paramedics run over 5 minutes before the kick off, there must of been about 8 of them, they were doing CPR on him for the whole time. At kick off they moved him (at that point I thought he was dead) but then carried on with CPR for another 15 minutes. They had a drip and got him on a strecher.

Was a terrible site. The left side of the North Upper were dead silent, everyone looked stunned. A few chants of Barmy Army got going but no one our side really joined it, football seemed so pointless as there was a man dying about 30 foot away.

I'm not sure if he dies though, if he had a heart attack would they of done CPR on him for 20 minutes?

Might of, only a Dr can confirm some one dead as far as I know.

That is so, so, sad to hear, and my condolences go out to
the family, friends and poor people who had to witness such a tragedy at PR.

When me and wifey walked into the game yesterday there was a
very old man inhis wheel chair, He was severely disabled and I said
to Jane 'How wonderful that someone has brought him to the
game' because despite his disabilities it was obvious that he
had a great love for Ipswich Town and its was nice to know
that people take the time and trouble to give people things they want.

Makes you all realise how lucky some of us really are..

Would have been surprised if he had have died there and then tbh.
Worked on him for a good 20 mins and as dazza said finnaly had a drip into him.

If he had have died there and then wouldnt have been a lot of point to the drip, and noticed it was still in when they stretchered him away.

Assumed it was a heartattack. Very odd, not a pleasant thing to happen especially at a footy ground with people cheering and clapping all around.

*shudder*

Least he still alive and kicking allbiet not very well.
Hope he recovers and makes it back to PR.

Thats great to hear, he didnt look in a good way at all!

When i saw him sitting in his seat he was un-consious (sp?).

I said to my mate that the build up music probably didnt help tbh, i dunno what the tune is, but it was the one is supposted to build a tense atmosphere!

Dazza: they would continue with CPR to mimick the heart beat and oxygen flow around the body . The only way you can re start the heart is with a defibulator - if they had shocked him but his heart remained asystolic - they may probably continue with CPR in an effort to maintain oxygen supply to brain but they might also have eventually pronounced clinically "dead" and they would have stopped CPR!

Fantastic news.

Its the paramedics that should be getting paid thousands of pounds per week and not footballers.

Cant praise them enough!
