Player of the season so far?

Post by ippers » Mon Feb 13, 2006 3:53 pm

Thought it might be time to make another of these threads so what does everyone think? For the fist hlf of the season IMO without doubt it was Sito but over the last couple of month he hasn't featued so predominantly so what does everyone reckon? For me t hs to be either Sito, Garvan or Currie (ill get stick for tht no doubt ). I feel tht Garavn could possibly become one of the best centre midfield players in the country if h continues t improve like he has, he hasn't had a bad display all season and without doing anythings spectacular, he manages to get teh tackles in and hits his target nearly everytime whether its short ot long and he wa sth best player against the scuma and for a 17 yaer old to boss the midfield is v impressive.
Curries a player most ppl like to mock but without him we could have well been in the relegation zone, the facst spak for themselves an he has more assists than the rest of the team put together and altho he cant tackle or head very well (or as some would say being a tart ) his quality from set pieces and crosses is bete than any othe rplayer ive seen at PR
Most improved player IMO is Matt Richards (despite the fact I called him a bald useless elmer fudd lookalike a few months back) since moving into midfield he has been very impressive and biggest disappointment most probably Westlake, he hasn't done much at all but in his defence he has bin injured for a long time

I can see Alan Lee winning it...even tho he's not been here that long he's made the biggest impact.

Ippers, i agree with u to a cetrtain extent but not about currie, i htink the rest of the team make him look good, but thats only my opinion

for me (what little ive seen) matt richards is the man, ive said all along hes got something but BFJ kept playing him at LB, its great to see the lad making passes and runs without the crowd getting on his back

also, shane supple is proving to be a very competent replacement for kelvin davis, in fact both our keepers are

onwards and upwards!!

Richards is my man of the season, if only for the massive improvement he's shown in general (though I thought he sucked on Saturday). Still, unless something goes very wrong between now and then, he'll probably get my vote.

Only potential replacement for me, is Lee - if he gets a goal every game between now and May, and we pull off the biggest miracle the Championship has ever seen - then he may get my vote ;)

Mark Fish! His contribution for 45 minutes made a huge difference.

For the overall season id have to give it to Naylor, start of the season Sito and now Alan Lee, but naylor has been consistant for the whole season

have to agree with that.

Supple and Price have both impressed me, Naylor and Garvan have been consistent, Haynes has made an impact recently as has Lee.

this could be difficult

For me it would have to be Jimmy Juan for biggest improvement, massive contribution (5 goals) and you can tell he loves the club.
